I and my gf are going to Disney World for 8 days in December. We are staying at the Polynesian. We are going to get married when we are there. This is the second marriage for each of us. We are going to invite some people but I would guess that only 4-20 people would come. We are not announcing our marriage until July - after my daughter's wedding in June. We would like to get married in Disney World but we are not going to use the Disney Wedding Planning. We would like to just rent a venue and bring our own officiant & have dinner with any guests that can come. This is going to be a VERY low key affair and we are going to keep the budget very low. No usual wedding things. We just need a private room or private area to do this. The guests - if any - will take pics.
I am looking for your expertise, thoughts, whatever advice you may have.
Thanks

I do not have any advice to impart but, am interested in hearing about your plans and any advice that anyone may have to give. What a beautiful time of year to get married at WDW!:cloud9: When are the dates you are planning? Any preliminary plans so far? Congrats!!!

You might want to look into the Swan and Dolphin through Just Marry! They have a small package that has the chairs for guests and your ceremony location and they can also include the officiant. The good thing is, you don't have to add any thing extra that you don't want. The base package is 1900.

If you want to get married at WDW then you have to go through Disney's wedding department. The Escape package sounds like it would fit your needs.

Other options are the Swan & Dolphin, DTD, or offsite.

Yeah, if you attempt a non DFTW event on property and are found out, word on the street is you could get banned from WDW! Also any reputable vendors/officiants in the area are well aware of the rules and regs and won't risk their reputation either.

You can look into DFTW, swan and dolphin, off site or I suppose a JoP/courthouse something in the area and follow up with a celebratory dinner or private event. Someone recently also mentioned the characters in flight balloon has something if that's up your alley! Good luck!

Are either of you military? Shades of Green has a nice package. Hyatt Grand Cypress has a package, Paradise Cove has some options, and so does Celebration Hotel. Another option would be to find an officiant and ask them for advice. We are getting married at Cypress Grove. You get a lot more for your money off site, but lose the " on property feel. We are doing the ceremony offsite, then having photos at Disney resorts and dinner at California Grill. This compromise worked a lot better with what we wanted. For us the Disney packages cost more than twice as much and did not include the elements we wanted.
