Low cost steak house?

Are you looking for a restaurant in Disney? Or a nationwide chain?

Nice steaks are around $3-5 when on sale at Kroger, add some marinade, spices, and toss on the grill.

For chains, I think Logan's has the best steak for the money. Texas Roadhouse is good too.

We're not into the $50 steak meal thing though.

We've done the Ruth's Chris steakhouse a few times, IMHO not worth the money. My hubby really loves Texas Roadhouse. Sometimes I wonder if it's more for the rolls than the steak. He hasn't had a bad one yet. At R'sC, the last two times he's had free meals because they can't cook it right. For that amount of money, I would think they could figure it out.

We've had luck buying steaks at Sam's, in their butcher section. I buy 6-8 sirloin steaks (it's like a ball-tip sirloin), marinade them for a bit and grill them. I think the package usually costs under $15. Homemade marinade, never had luck with the bottled stuff.

If you're talking about the Disney area the best deal I've found for GOOD steak is Manny's chop house. You'd need a car to get there as it's in Haines City (about a half hour away???), but well worth the drive. You can check out their menu on their website www.mannyschophouse.com

I live near Manny's and always wanted to try there...

For chains, Logans IMHO is awesome

I'll throw my vote in for Outback and Texas Roadhouse, I've had excellent steaks at both.

I'd check out the local steakhouses rather than the chains. In my experience they're usually cheaper unless they're really broadcasting being upscale, and they have to be good enough to stay in business without the "name" being the draw. Ours is a casual "steakhouse," with an incredible prime rib, good salad bar and chowder. Cheapest steak in the area, too.

Outback and Texas Roadhouse are both good. I like Outback a little better.

When it comes to steak (and seafood) you get what you pay for.

Seafood restaurants sure hope we think this way, in reality most seafood counters at grocery stores will steam your lobster for you for free and the result is the same or better than what you pay top dollar for in the restaurants. This goes double for Maine, in my experience.

Outback is running a special right now $14.95 for thier ribeye. It is YUMMY. I get the bleu cheese wedge salad and a loaded baked potato and of course a "wallaby darned" cocktail

Texas Roadhouse. It is my favorite. I love the cinnamon butter that comes with the rolls. Logan's is good too. I like rolls lol. We like Tumbleweed's too, is that considered a steak house? All I know is that kids eat free on Sunday and I get steak, so it counts to me. Whoever said Sizzler we are jealous because we do not have one here. Tried to find one on they way to wdw but did not see one:sad1: I do not really care for Outback.

I'm a vote for Logans... they're second best to the now closed roadhouse grill.

I know here, they run the two meal special for 13.99 mon-wen nights. On top of that, each meal comes with two sides, so plenty of food for nearly the price of one entree. For two people you can walk out with a tab under 20$ (plus tip).

My cousin runs a slightly more upscale casual steak place. And I love eating there, definatly the best steak ever, but if it wasn't for family, I would never go eat there. Too expensive for my water budget.

this.....this is why it scares me that taco bell is now doing shrimp tacos....:rolleyes1

I took the gamble and actually ordered Taco Bell's Pacific Shrimp tacos, and while far from great they weren't horrible.

chain i like charlie browns...i eat at outback but actually like some of the chicken and shrimp dishes there better. for a better quality i love mortons, my friend could eat the whole loaf of bread and i love the hashbrown side.
