Helping some friends out who don't know Disney- if you could pick a time between March 31st - June 11th for 3-4 days at DLR, which period would you pick?
First time trip for the family, they also plan to do a day at Knotts and a day at USH. Which period would you consider to be the lower crowd times in that period?
Later April, May?
Thanks so much!

If we knew what days would be less crowded we would all be going those days, thus making it more crowded…

We can really only guess what days might be crowded.

Late March early April is Spring Break (which is heavily staggered throughout the US) and Disney thinks is at least until April 9th based on blockout calendars.

Food and Wine is still going until April so there will probably be a bit of crowds in DCA.

Knotts has the Boysenberry fest from mid March to mid April which makes weekends very crowded there.

Also there is speculation some After Hour events for April and May will be announced soon.

Avoid Mother’s Day weekend.

Then SoCal residents tickets end May 25 which means the weekdays leading up to that date will be crowded.

Then Memorial Day, avoid this too.

Then June will have MK holders who are blocked out for summer getting in some last trips

So with all that maybe late April, mid May? But everyone else might do the same thinking it’s less crowded…

So in the end just pick the most convenient time for you, prepare for crowds and be pleasantly surprised if there aren’t any.

The second week of May. Why? Because it's my birthday! And also a really good, lower crowd time to go.

May 31-June 4.
We went June 1st-4th last year and it was sublime. Crowds were not bad at all until mid-afternoon. I think we were still in the passholder window for all Keys and it wasn't bad at all.

I've always heard May is the golden month, except for May the 4th because of the Star Wars Nights. You will have to contend with Grad Nites but we just planned our DCA time around those. We went on June 2nd as the Grad Nites were the 1st and 3rd. No issues. The rest of the month is fairly light until Memorial Day Weekend.

I always recommend looking at the MK block out calendar. I only go when the two lowest level passes are blocked out, even better if the lowest three levels are blocked out.

It's Disneyland, and it's always crowded, and everyone needs to go into any trip with that expectation in mind. I do, however, agree, with many of the previous posters that there's likely a sweet spot after Easter and also late May early June before all schools are out. Just watch out for DCA grad nights in June. The more MK block outs, the more the audience will be tourists who spend money on Genie+, so it's a different type of crowd.
