Lovmy2girls Day 1-8 Trip report! May 27th-June 3rd **Finished NEW**

FUNNY!!

Great trip report. Love the pics! :cheer2:

When things aren't going my way... I try a little lipgloss!
LIPGLOSS makes everything better! :)

Wow! With the beautiful smiles on your pictures, it's hard to tell anyone was tired. Your girls are good when it's smiling time huh?

I guess your touring method (hitting the parks in the Am-resort-evening park) is the best way to have an enjoyable vacation.

Had to laugh when you mentioned recognizing the CM as Great movie ride. My DD's can even tell me certain parts that are just about to happen while we are on attractions. We still enjoy it nonetheless.

Please don't take my method as law, its just for us right now, taking a break is a must. They can't handle 12-16 straight hour days in the park. And we don't need to. We have "Been there done that, going back" so to speak. There is no ride we have not done, so need to pile it all in, if you know what I mean. Its more relaxing for us adults too.

About the smiles, good little actors they are! They can be in the middle of a fight, say cheese "Cheese" Stop it no you stop, MMMOOOOMMM!
:teeth:

Day 5 May31, 2006 – Epcot & Lunch at Cinderella’s Castle

The after effects from the day before are being felt this morning. I didn’t spring from the bed to the shower, we slept late, everybody was dragging their feet and we arrived after opening ceremonies at Epcot, and all you Disney planners know what that means. Lines have formed already, AND YOUR NOT IN THEM! We make a beeline for Soarin. Grab a fast pass and get in line. I asked that dreaded question for all Soarin CMs “Can I have first row please?” He was nice and accommodated my request. This was great because this was my moms first time and I didn’t want her to see hanging feet above her for her first experience on Soarin. She loved it of course. We still had time to wait before we could ride again with our fast pass, so we headed to The Land for the tour of the gardens. It doesn’t matter how many times I do this ride I still like seeing the gardens and what’s growing. My favorite is the Mickey pumpkins. Aren’t they cute? In the second picture one is finished growing and picked.

DSC02199.jpg
DSC02200.jpg

We ride Soarin again, this time row 3. Yea, it was still a good ride, but nothing beats row 1 in my book. Why didn’t Disney fix this in the building stages? Surely there was something that could have been done so we don’t have to see FEET!

We run over to Test Track and by this time, the fast passes are at 1:30 for a return time, and the stand by is 60 minutes. EEEKKK! See what happens when you’re late getting to the parks in peak season. We head to Mission Space, and the fast passes are cutting it to close for us to leave for Cindy’s Royal Table for lunch. But…..the new “Green Level” less intense lane is only 10 minutes stand by. So we take it. I wanted to try this out anyway, and hubby who does not like Mission Space enjoyed himself for the first time and the girls liked it too. Thumbs up all around from everybody here for the less intense version of Mission Space.

We head over to the butterfly exhibit. My oldest was really excited about this. It was very neat inside and a must for nature lovers such as my kids. “No we can’t take the butterflies back to the Poly! Where would we keep them?”
DSC02203.jpg

DSC02207.jpg

DSC02206.jpg

Now this seems to be a growing theme that I have seen now around the parks, a play ground. There was one in the World Showcase that I saw on the way to The American Adventure the day before. Of course, when my girls see one, they want to play on it. Now my thought is, that’s something we can do in Pensacola, why do we want to do that in WDW, lets go do something else. But no, they have to stop and at least try it. “Mom it looks so fun, PLEASE, I must try it PLEASE!”

DSC02211.jpg

Well by this time it is time to head on over to the MK to Cindy’s for Lunch. We didn’t get to spend as much time as I had planned in Epcot due to our late start. We head for the front gates. Snap a few pictures.

DSC02215-1.jpg

DSC02217.jpg

This was my moms first time eating in the Castle, and her Mother’s Day gift and she was really excited to go. I have a review on the restaurants about our lunch.

DSC02242.jpg

DSC02227.jpg

After Lunch, it’s back to the Poly for the rest of the day and Night! We nap, we swim, we build castles, fight off little boys who want to destroy castles, and watch the fire works!

DSC00147.jpg

DSC00150.jpg

DSC00154.jpg

This is one of my favorite things to do while at WDW, not much at all. I love watching the monorail travel the resort loop, watch the girls and hubby build castles and then watch the fireworks. The view from the beach at the Poly, night or day is just the best in all of WDW IMHO. AHH! Relaxation and Disney!

I loved your dining reviews, and now I'm loving your trip report too. Can't wait to read the rest. :thumbsup2

Day 6 June 1, 2006 Stitch Breakfast Animal Kingdom Epcot LeCellier

This morning is breakfast with Stitch. This is our first time for Breakfast at ‘Ohana with Stitch and friends! We were very excited about this. Many times we have seen Stitch while walking by to the Monorail and kept saying, “Next Trip” and now the day is here! We had a very early ADR 7:30
DSC02244.jpg

DSC02245.jpg

We were one of the first people there so the characters were ready to go and came quickly to our table. Here is the big guy himself and I just had to get my Picture with him. I LOVE YOU MICKEY!
DSC02247.jpg

DSC02246.jpg

DSC02252.jpg

DSC02256.jpg

DSC02259.jpg

DSC02260.jpg

Good fun here. Lots of character interaction because the place was not full yet, and they were in no hurry to leave. They even came by a second time and said Hi to the girls. They even did a little parade around the whole place with the characters. The girls really had fun doing that.

My husbands brother in law and sister love Stitch. They were also taking care of our bird while we were away so we bought them this Stitch Hat and he signed it and took a picture with it. They loved it. Thanks to Stitch here! He was so much fun. !!
DSC02257.jpg

DSC02261.jpg

Now on to the food. It was hot and very good. The sticky buns were yummy. The breakfast skillet was normal breakfast food, but was still good, and hit the spot. I will say this. We found that having a big breakfast slowed us down for the first part of the day. It’s hard moving when you’re all full of Mickey waffles and bacon!

DSC02249.jpg

DSC02258.jpg

You can’t go wrong with seeing Mickey! And Stitch just added to the whole breakfast to make it even more special. Thumbs up all around from my family on this character meal.

We head over to AK to catch a few rides that we missed on our previous AK day. Isn’t the talking palm tree cute! He cracks me up.

DSC02262.jpg

We run over to ride EE one last time for this trip. What a great ride!

DSC02263.jpg

Now for the section that makes me want to cry everytime I see it Dino land. What a disgrace to the Disney name. To me if feels like I am at a county fair. Just MHO here, please no flames. We ride the Primevil Whirl ride. We have to the girls love it. I feel it is a waste of time, but we do anyway.

DSC02266.jpg

WE head on over to the Dinosaur Ride. I enjoy this one. We stop and chat with a CM about dino bones. The girls love doing activities around the AK with the CMs.

DSC02268.jpg

We head on over to the Lion King show. We havn’t done this show since our very first visit to the AK, and mom has never watched so we go right on over there and catch a showing. Very hot in that tent. I don’t know if the A/C was not working or just a hot day, but I didn’t remember it being that hot even in July when we saw it. Anyway. Great show. Thumbs up from everybody. We head back to Nap and swim.

After Swim and Nap time, we head on over to Epcot. We have a 8:30 ADR for Lecellier.
We arrive early and walk around the World Showcase. We snap a few pictures along the way.
DSC02284.jpg

DSC02285.jpg

We ride the Mexico boat ride and honestly, I wish I was eating there tonight other than LeCellier, but I will try to contain myself. I’m just really hungry. No food since Stictch this morning. And I’m just one of those few people who really likes the food at San Angel Inn. But, I am really looking forward to dinner at a new place.

DSC02291.jpg

We hit the Norway boat ride. Great fun there. Then, it’s on to LeCellier!

Each trip I try to pick all new places to try. This is our first time at LeCellier and we were very excited. :cool1: We didn’t order steak anywhere else on our trip, holding out for this special night. That was hard, because I love the steak at Kona….but …….back to LeCellier.

We arrived for our dinner a few minutes early. Our ADR was at 8:30. This was the best time I could get, even after trying for several months. My husband walked up to the lady out front who greets the poor unlucky people with no ADRs, and the few who are lucky enough to have an ADR, and before he could say anything…She said “Sorry, no times available”. My husband trying to be funny….Said “Doege, party of 5”, the nice lady from Canada kept saying, “Sorry” I don’t know why communication broke down here, but those two finally got it worked out and she let us in.

The inside is really beautiful. We were, I think unlucky enough to get a table right by the two doors leading into the kitchen, but it all buffed out, and was fine.
DSC02298.jpg

We started the meal off with of course a few drinks. Having heard about the Ice wine, my husband ordered a glass, and I an Ice Wine Martini. Both were fantastic. The wine was so good in fact, my hubby ordered another glass. Now those of you who have dinned at this establishment, or are even just more educated on cost of Ice wine know how much this cost. WE DID NOT! Yea baby, $30.50 worth of wine! Glad we had the DDE card to help out just a bit here. Note to self: No more ice wine once was enough!

The first pic is of the Ice Wine, then the Ice Wine martini, followed by Torontopolitan and then the kids lemonade .

DSC02295.jpg

DSC02294.jpg

DSC02304.jpg

DSC02296.jpg

The bread sticks, as so many others have said were great! I had the cheddar cheese soup, and hubby had the shrimp Cocktail on wassabe coleslaw, both were awesome.
DSC02293.jpg

DSC02299.jpg

DSC02300.jpg

I had the Filet with mash potatoes. The steak was very, very tender! Husband had the NY Strip 14oz steak. Excellent as well. I also included the kids pasta and chicken strips. I thought it was a nice touch adding the fruit to the chicken strips.

DSC02309.jpg

DSC02306.jpg

DSC02310.jpg

For dessert, the kids got the Chocolate moose and the Smores. Very cute desserts and the highlight of their meal. Hubby and I split the Maple Crème Brulee.

DSC02318.jpg

DSC02316.jpg

DSC02317.jpg

After the shock from our bill, (Ice Wine is how Much????) we made our way back to the
Monorail and headed to the Poly.

Overall impressions. Excellent food. Great atmosphere, but prefer not sitting by the two kitchen doors. Service was fantastic. We had Katie for our server and she was very on top of things. There are some restaurants that are on my “Will do again even though I have not tried every restaurant in WDW yet list” and this did not make it. Please no flames or harsh words, I liked the food very much, and I’m very glad I tried LeCellier; it was a great dinning experience.

Day 7 June 2, 2006 Epcot and Japan for Lunch

Well, I can feel our trip coming to a end. It’s always a sad time. What really gets me is seeing the people at the Poly with their leis on knowing they just checked in, and I will be checking out tomorrow.

But we still have 1 ½ days left, so we are off to enjoy. We head over to Epcot to Ride Test Track and do Mission Space the orange version MORE intense. We ride Test track, and grab a fast pass. The girls love this ride. Note to Self here- maybe they shouldn’t get a drivers license, the speed test really excites them a little too much. A sign of things to come? I don’t know.

Then we head to Mission Space for the orange version. We get in ready to go Mars and we wait, and wait, and wait. We decide to take a few pics. Wait some more. Something is wrong! Then I see a clean up guy coming with a bucket, mop, rags, and lots of spray bottles. You know what that means. “A protein spill!” Someone lost their cookies! We wait, and wait some more. I snapped some pics of the guy cleaning but they turned out way to dark to see. Finally after about 40 minutes, a CM comes around and lets us leave. It’s going to take longer than we originally thought. Sorry folks! They gave us a FP for future use during the day.

DSC02325.jpg

Well, we have an ADR for lunch at Japan. What else do we want to do? We spy the bee keeper and bees and say Hi to him. He had lots of interesting facts to tell my girls about Bees and they just eat that stuff up. Literally, see the samples of honey in their hand? They said it was great! We say good bye to him and head on over to Japan for our ADR.

DSC00208.jpg

Teppanyaki was a really fun place to eat. This is the first time we have dinned here, so we were very excited!

The lady who was our server was EXCELLENT! And very nice. We were given hot towels to wash our hands with at the beginning of our meal. Nice touch I think. Maybe all restaurants should do this.
DSC02332.jpg

Because of the grill being so hot, and four to a room it was hot in there. Having just come from the hot outside it would have been nice to sit in a cool place to have lunch.

Of course we had drinks. We ordered a Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Sunset, and a Martini Special. Very good drinks!
DSC02335.jpg

DSC02336.jpg

DSC02340.jpg

This seaweed salad was included with the dinner. After I ate mine, my husband informed me that he thought maybe that brown thing was a worm. I hope not, but if it was, I thought it was still good. My youngest daughter (blue eyed one) ate the seaweed salad also and said it was good!

DSC02337.jpg

I also ordered the $1.00 salad. Yes, $1.00! Very good salad dressing on it. Ginger I think. No worms here!
DSC02338.jpg

Dear Hubby ordered a Sushi combo sampler. He said the California roll was good. The red tuna was a little strong and he didn’t care for it that much. He has never had Sushi before and was excited about the whole thing. He really enjoyed trying something different!
DSC02339.jpg

The two girls ordered chicken. Mom and I ordered steak and chicken. Hubby ordered shrimp and scallops. Food was great all around. Even the girls enjoyed their food, and it wasn’t even fried!! The cook gives you two sauces to eat your dinner with. A soy sauce and I think she said a mustard sauce. Both were excellent! Here are pics of our cook and FOOD! Our cook was very funny. She really put on a good show for the girls and talked to them a lot. That made it all worth it right there!!
DSC02341.jpg

DSC02342.jpg

DSC02344.jpg

DSC02345.jpg

We started off with the veggies and then the meat. She said we could go ahead and eat, but I wanted to wait for my meat so I could eat it all together, so I just watched her.

DSC02346.jpg

DSC02347.jpg

Here is Hubbys Shrimp and scallops. His was done first. I tasted his scallops and they were fantastic! Great food here.
DSC02348.jpg

Looking at the pics, I guess we didn’t take a pic of our steak and chicken. Sorry, those drinks must have kicked in by then. Our steak was the last to cook. If you don’t want to wait long to eat, then get the seafood or chicken for your meal. It was still worth the wait, I thought it was very good. Here is a pic of the girls eating with their chop sticks. The server gave them special ones that had a rubber band at the top to help them eat better with them. Just for that I was ready to give her a tip right there! See what happens when you treat my girls nice!
DSC02349.jpg

Dessert was nothing fancy. Ice cream came with the girl’s lunch. They have different flavors. I think mine got the orange and vanilla flavor. I ordered the ginger cake.

DSC02353.jpg

DSC02352.jpg

DSC02351.jpg

In conclusion the first thing that comes to my mind is “What do you mean you don’t take the DDE card?? After that little upset, I was fine. Good food, great entertainment. Look at your seaweed salad before you eat it and make the decision for yourself if it’s a worm or not. Lots of FUN here!

That afternoon we head back to the Polynesian, enjoy our afternoon there. We cancel our ADR for the Bistro, and go to the Kona Café for dinner, and send the girls to the Neverland club to play for a few hours. Since it was less than 24 hr. notice, they were going to charge my card anyway, so we had an adults only dinner, and that was nice. No one was in the mood to get dressed up and go to France. Hubby and I want to do this dinner in October we go alone.

Day 8 Last Day Favorite Rides Day.

Well, it’s a sad day. They day we all dread, go home day. We usually hop from Park to Park and hit our favorite rides. We start the day off with Breakfast at Kona Café. Tonga Toast and the Big Kahuna.

DSC02367.jpg

DSC02366.jpg

We zip over to the MK first. We get their early to hit the three big mountain rides first and Tom Sawyer Island for daughter #1 She loves the caves. We knew what day it was today. We have ABSOLUTELY no problem with Gay days. We have seen lots of couples all week, and were NOT bothered by same sex couples. They are there to have a good time just like us. Come to think of it. We saw a non-gay couple in Mexico that should have gotten a room. You would have thought they were filming “Debbie does Mexico.” What I’m trying to say and not to well I might add, sorry,..... gay or straight, acting appropriately in a theme park doesn’t take high IQ points.
Ok, I said all that to say this. We arrive early at the MK. Red Shirts everywhere, no problem. Were all here to have fun! I don’t care, lets race to Splash Mountain! What I do have a problem with are the VERY offensive red shirts. Disney should have done something about that. And there were lots of them. It really set me back that people would put such rude, vulgar, XXX rated comments on their shirts. That put a damper on the mood for us. If we were at Pleasure Island or another adult hot spot, I would have not thought much about the shirts, but my girls are VERY good readers. My oldest loves to ask questions about things she does not know about, and there were lots of questions she could have asked that day! I’m sure there were gay couples there angry that other couples would wear shirts like that too, not just straight couples.

We do our big three mountain rides. Splash mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 2x’s, and Space Mountain 2 x

DSC02368.jpg

DSC02371.jpg

I send dad over with the girls to do Tom Sawyers Island and mom and I go sit at the Rail Road station overlooking main street and wait for them to come back. It took forever. Hubby said that the CM, driving the boat from Tom Sawyer Island could not drive the boat and kept spinning them in circles. She did not know how to drive this boat at all. My husband tried to help, and after 30 minutes, in the hot sun, baking to a crisp, and angry passengers ready to throw her overboard, finally took his advice. “IF you will just do exactly what I say I will get you to the dock, I promise!” And she did. We snapped this finial picture of the MK for this Trip!

DSC00235.jpg

We were going to hit Epcot and MGM for a few rides there but it was hot, and everyone was ready to get going. We head back to the Poly, and say goodbye there. Call bell services, Deon still not on Duty, and get our bags packed and ready to go. We asked for a late check out, and got it.

DSC00236.jpg

Well, that is it folks. It was a good trip, but as always you learn stuff. One big lesson we learned is people with different vacation blueprints should not vacation together. My mom is fun, but she is just so different from us, and we her, that the clashing was really wearing us down as well as her too. She’s single, carefree no kids, and is use to thinking only of herself not kids, and DOESN”T DRINK. We have kids, we have to think about them because they are too young to think on their own totally, and LOVE ALCOHOL on vacation. We have to nap, she doesn’t. Those are just a few things that can really add up to not so good times. But….all in all, I hope my kids look back on this and say they had a great time with their grandma at WDW that is what really matters to us. And I did have a good time with my mom, please don’t get me wrong. Just for us I think vacations of that length should just be us! She has a annual pass now, it would be good to take her on a quick weekend trip. Thanks folks for all your nice words and comments about the girls. :goodvibes Sorry I'm not as good a trip reports writer as Vettechick, or the happyhaunts just to name a couple. Until next trip. See ya on the boards. And, if anyone sees the Tag Fairy, please tell her I said HI  maybe even put in a good word for me?

You are a GREAT writer!! Thank you for sharing your trip with us and we loved the pictures alot. I agree that it is sometimes hard to go that long of a vacation with anyone but your family (10 days for me & my oldest 3 in 1997 with late husband's bro, wife, 2 kids and another sis-in-law and the bro-in-law family griped the whole time - and I paid for the trip!! lol My husb sister didn't gripe at all, neither did the 2 boys we flew in from Oregon - they were so grateful and had a great time.)

Your family is beautiful and seemed to enjoy their trip - can't wait to read your next one!!

I enjoyed reading your trip reports. Thanks for sharing.

Last year we went in June and when we saw Tarzan Rocks then, it was unbearably hot. I don't think it's the time of year. I think they goofed on the ventilation in there. I'm talking almost passing out hot.....thank goodness for misting fans and the towels we brought that were packed in ice.

great report!! I read your dining reviews and had to come check out your trip reports... I must agree... WDW with other than immed family can be a little more stressful... this year... just us :thumbsup2

just read through your report and all I can say is that IF I were the Tag Fairy, I'd be sure to put a Tag on you! Great report! :thumbsup2

:cool1: your girls are adorable! i really enjoyed sharing your trip. Thanks for posting it! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed reading your trip report and looking at the great pics! Great job!!!!

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone! So glad you guys enjoyed the report.

I think the TF likes cute pets. Maybe I need to post a pic of my my girls pet bird and corn snake. Hubby and I have fish and a kitty. But other than that I just can't seem to catch her attention. 8 dinning reports, 8 days of trip reports and a resort review and she still has not noticed me! Or maybe I just don't have anything to say that catches her attention. :sad2: But I will go on, I LOVE the DIS! :disrocks: I still have hope. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things!
