We are here and loving it! It is so beautiful. Sure there is construction going on but it is no problem, you dont hear a thing from that area. Visually its not that appealing, but then we knew it was going to be there, so how could we possibly let that bother us. The Springs area is going to be very desirable.

We are in the last building to open and even strolling, it took us less than 10 mins to get to the main areas. The walk was lovely along the way. There is a temporary bus stop at the Carriage House and the bus will stop there from Congress Park if you don't want to walk. When the resort is finished there will be an internal bus.

I like the hallways, a nice combo of outside and inside. I definitely say I have no idea how anyone could find them dark, we were almost blinded by the bright lighting.

You can hear the fireworks, but no other noise from PI. Views are lovely along the waterway.

Landscaping, Disney has never done this much in a new resort. Some of the plants and trees look like they have been here for years.

Cast Members have been wonderful. We had a light out, they were in 10 mins. to change it.

The walkway to DD is right at our building and a very pleasant stroll.

We ate lunch at Artist's Palette and really liked it. If you are a fried food person it will not appeal to you. If you like gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads, it's great. We found it a refreshing change from some of the junk served elsewhere. There were some really nice dessert choices.

Watches, they had 4 left when we went by the store. Not all locations got the same amount of watches.

The public areas, check in, etc are still a work in progress. It looks great now but will be even better soon.

We will definitely be back.

If you have questions please ask I will try to answer, but we are not going to spend too miuch time at the computer, and miss all the fun here.

Just glad to hear that you like the resort and you are having a good time. Thanks for checking in while on your vacation.

If you happen to talk to anyone that might know, can you find out what buildings will be opening up in September and October. Will they be the ones directly across from the Carriage House maybe?

We liked Artist Palette, too. I do think they are going to have to do something about the food ordering process though. Once the place gets full, it will be a cumbersome and slow process at best the way it is now.

Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Someone else who likes SSR. Woo Hoo! :thewave:

Excellent question. I even sent an email to MS and never got a response.

Would love to hear what you can find out, Sammie!!!:cheer2:

Thanks for the report, now go and have lots of fun for the rest of us! So glad to hear that you love the resort.

Sammie, Glad you are having such a wonderful time! I was just there in June and miss home so much already!

I really enjoyed SSR and agree with you about Artist Pal.

I agree about it being a refreshing change from the standard fare. You can get burgers and fries and chicken strips at every turn, but I guess that's what most want. I really enjoyed the flatbread pizza and the desserts!

I thought the same about the entryways also. Very well done and well lit.

Great to hear about the internal busses also!

Great to hear that things are looking good. We are intending to stay at SSR for our none Food and Wine festival trips.

I'm so glad you had a good time!! We are on our way down for our first visit home to SSR in just a few days and I confess I was getting just a little nervous about the stay. (Not nervous enough to try changing to a different resort, lol!)
Can't wait to get there :)

spent 6 days at ssr for grand opening
GREAT TIME
GOING HOME AGAIN IN 62 DAYS
GREAT PLACE

Thanks for taking time out of your trip to post the report! I get so excited reading these great reviews! Enjoy the rest of your trip!! :sunny:

Thank's Sammie :). Great report.

Question for Sammie, or anyone else: Does SSR have parking right in front of the units like OKW? That is a huge benefit IMHO and I was hoping it was the case for SSR. THANKS :)!

The parking reminds me of Riverside in the Mansions areas. Due to the fact that the buildings at SSR are larger than the buildings at OKW the parking lot is larger. It is very near but also removed enough with landscaping to be very attractive.

There is also an area right in front of the building that you can pull up and unload and then park if you don't get a space next to the walkways.
