I just came across another reason to get Sirius satellite radio, the Metropolitaan Opera. :thumbsup2 If I had any doubts before, I sure don't have them now. The Metropolitan Opera now has a channel on Sirius radio, it's channel # 85, all opera, all the time, and these are full operas being played with 4 live performances each week. This week, tomorrow in fact, Tan Dun's "The First Emperor" will make it's World Premier. Just wanted to pass along the great news. :cheer2:

How are the classical stations? Since our local classical station switched to news talk, I can only get good classical off of the internet or my CD collection...

I have it on my Satellite TV, they have several classical/opera statioins, a POPS, one just for symphonies, an opera one, and a few others, I'm not sure if you get the satellite TV that they may offer radio packages with it. Love all the Sirius channels, I like rock n roll too, and there are tons of different kinds of rock, even a Margharittaville radio, that is Jimmy Buffet and friends kinda thing, really cool stuff, hope sat radio takes over some day.

I love opera, but I also love choral music and lieder, etc., so I am glad that I have XM, which has all three of these on Vox. The three classical channels on XM are great, and this month's Christmas classical channel (which has preempted XM Pops) has been wonderful! :)

I've listened to both and I think I prefer the Classical offerings on Sirius better. Though neither give as many simultaneous choices as I'd like I think Sirus does a better job. Certainly love the Met on Sirius!

I love the voice as well, and sirius has their channel devoted to the human voice, I do love listening to it when I can. I don't have sirius, yet, but hopefully after all the subtle ( ;) ) hints I gave my wife I'll have it Christmas morning. You know, subtle, "Oh look honey, the Met now has a channel all of it's own on Sirius, man that would be nice to listen to. Then there's the ever so subtle, "Man, I really like Sirius radio, sure wish I had one." :teeth:

Anybody gonna whip out Amadeus over the holidays, I don't know why but it seems like a Christmas movie to me, one of my favorites. I haven't watched it in a few years so I think I'll whip mine out.

Anybody have the 3 tenors concert at the ruins, I forget exactly where that is, but there are a bunch of ruins behind them. At the end all 3 of them come out and belt out a bunch of numbers together? Thats a great tape, I realize its kind of old (7 or 8 years?)
