Loved Wishes FP+

September will be our first trip to WDW. We have FP+ for MSEP and Wishes one evening. Can we watch MSEP from the Wishes viewing area? Our daughter will be almost 4 if that matters for the view.

We're not too concerned about "wasting" our FP, as we have A&E at 7pm that evening and were planning to RD, go back to POR around noon and then not come back until after dinner. But if we could use that other FP for something else, then we would.
You can only see the top parts of the parade so I imagine a four year old would have problems seeing the parade. We were four adults and were able to enjoy the parade. Being able to relax and not be crowded was worth the sacrifice of not being up close for the parade.

Why are they wanting everyone to stand?
No official reason that I know of. I believe they feel it fits more people that way and that folks can see better. But as many have mentioned, they do ask you to stand but you are not required to do so. If you can see sitting then you are left to remain seated. You wouldn't be harassed to stand. At least not thus far

Plus, many nights there are 2 parades. It's not really necessary to try and see the first one.

We loved it too! Actually did it 2 nights on a 4 night stay. We arrived at 8 both times and were the first in. We went all the way to the left towards the castle where the rail is and even got to sit on the little bench area. Perfect! I would do it again in a heartbeat even if having to miss 4th FP. The parade viewing was not perfect. You could still see the floats though and characters and the magic was alive! My 8 year old was fine with not seeing it all but we have seen it a few times. We waited for crowds to clear and it was almost 11 when we left. I suppose we could have stayed for the parade then as there was barely anyone waiting! Either way I say try it at least once!

Where exactly is this Fast Pass area for Wishes? I understand it is near Casey's, and near The Plaza.
When people are sitting down while waiting, are they sitting on chairs or the grass?

I have a FP+ for our arrival night, which is perfect, because we will barely have time to use our other 2 that night. I am very excited to watch from there!

Between the restaurants and the castle. We were on The Plaza side, we got ice cream at The Plaza then walked in front of the restaurant with Main Street behind us, we took a left up the path then the FP entrance was on our left. We actually bumped into it by accident because we were looking for a place to sit and eat our ice cream but the CM's had us keep moving because it was also parade time. When I finally found a spot to sit I realized I was sitting at the FP entrance, got up, flashed my band, entered then sat on grass (turf) to finish my ice cream.

We were on the left side so we were between Casey's and the Castle. Kind of on the back side of the hub. There were no seats. Everyone sat on the turf. There are narrow railings to lean on and if you are taller you could sit on them. I am 5'5" and I felt a little unsafe trying to balance on them but I am extremely clumsy.

To be clear: With Wishes taking up a FP slot, you can't book any more until after Wishes, right? That would stink.

You are right about that. The night we used the FP+ for wishes was our arrival day so it was not like we were sacrificing a whole days worth of opportunity for extra FPs. I just can't tolerate all of the pushy people jockeying for a position in the hub so I loved the FP area.

I'm excited to watch wishes from the FP+ area. We booked it on a night we are only spending the evening in the park. It is a Saturday with EMH and we do not plan on arriving until 6-7 that evening. Resting during the day so no issue with it being a pre booked one.

That's the way I want to work it next time; this time around I only have one MK day but it definitely seems worth trying on the next go-round for either arrival day or a second full day.

We have it booked on our day off from the parks. For the week we are going regular Wishes is sparse because of Night of Joy and MNSSHP, we are taking a rest day mid-week and it works out so that we won't be using up ride FP--happy to hear that it's such a great spot!
