Loved the Dream 8/28/11-mini review

Thank you for the awesome posting because i am concerned about our May sailing. I do have a question for you? Was the ship sold out? was it full or do you think since school has just started it was not as busy as it might normally might be?

Thx.

I don't believe the ship was sold out. It certainly did not feel crowded, however there were many North East residents that were not able to get flights out to Orlando because the airports closed down on Saturday. With that said, I think late August is generally less crowded because schools are open. If you notice, late August cruises are generally a little less expensive.

Don't worry about the cruise, just make a conscious decision to have fun and not fret over little details. We've done a lot of cruises and I can tell you that this one didn't have many flaws, except the fact that it was only 4 days.

Just wondering did you 20 year old do the college club thing? and if so, did they like it? What did the do?

We are going with three 18 year olds this year and not sure what to expect.
Thanks!

Westjones he went to the club 18-21 activities and said most were empty or as he put it, full of 50 year old.
He still had a good time. He often played basketball at night or hung out in the adult pools.
I think three 18 year olds will be able to make their own fun.

I'm so happy to read a positive review of 6688!!! I was a bit worried when I chose that room for my upcoming E. Caribbean on the Fantasy, but it was the last room on deck six in that category. I do have a few questions though if you wouldn't mind answering them...
1. When you were sitting in the chairs on the balcony could you see a view or just sky? I know that sounds odd but the DCL rep said that it wasn't a clear plexiglass wall but white...confused:confused3
2. Does 6688 sleep 3 or 4?
3. On the floor plan it looks as if there is an elevator close by? Is there a reason not to take those as opposed to the mid-elevators?

Thanks so much!!!

I wasn't on the same sailing as the OP, but I want to say just remember all cruises are different. I've been on cruises where there are lot's of 18-21's onboard and some were not so many were onboard:goodvibes

Heather our muster station was inside. It was in one of the adult lounges on 4. We had 2 rooms and I was upset when I noticed that 1 room was muster station O and the other was P. It turns out that O & P are in the same lounge, just different sides of the room.
I asked a CM if in the event of an emergency would our family be separated and she said no. We would be put together in one section.

Thank you :) :thumbsup2

Heather

finkerbell.
#1 If you pulled your chair up to the railing you could see the water but you did need to get up to see the water beneath you. I must admit that I spent more time standing on this balcony than I usually do.
#2 To be honest I don't remember if 6688 slept 3 or 4. We only had 2 people in there. It was nice to have complete privacy on the left side as the room next door did not have a balcony.
#3 The elevator is close but it leaves you at the very back of the ship. It was good to go up to Cabanas but if you wanted to go to other areas you had to walk across the decks. When we were in a hurry it was easy enough to walk across deck 6 which has very little traffic because it is all cabins.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Be sure to take a look at the pictures I just posted.

Thank you so much for posting some pictures! ;) I got excited when I saw the 6690 verandah shots but then remembered it's bigger than ours in 6188. We still have an extended verandah but apparently not as big as 6690!

Great pictures! Wow! "My" balcony for 6690 looks huge! I sure wish they would put a couple of lounge chairs on it, though! I absolutely cannot wait for June! Thanks, MEGADAN for posting the pictures!
Which June cruise are you on next year? We are on the June 20th sailing and have the next door - 6188 so I thought it'd be funny if we were on the same cruise :)

Thanks
Heather

Heather, we are on the June 24th cruise so we just miss you! That would have been funny if we had been on the same cruise! Hope you have a great one!
