LoveBugs?

Oh, yes! Today, I drove from Orlando to Tallahassee with a friend. By the time we got to Tallahassee, we could barely see through the windsheild because of the lovebug splatters. We were afraid to use the wipers for fear of smearing them so we couldn't see.

They were all over my yard in Orlando. I have a white fence and they are attracted to white.

They were awful this past week at Disney. They were everywhere!!

Oy, yesterday they were everywhere! I felt like they were chasing me!

Thanks. I was wondering about them too.
Hopefully someone can post another update on Friday since we head out on Saturday.

Noticed them toward the end of the week, have been especially bad this weekend.

They were terrible at OKW as of Saturday. Some cast members were commenting on how this year seems especially bad.

We left OKW on Sat afternoon and they were pretty bad I agree. The DME bus had the whole windshield full of them by the time we got to the airport!

My dh and I thought we were the only ones who ever noticed these bugs. The first time we took the kids (this time of year) they were everywhere! DH and I used to chuckle and call them the "do it" bugs! (quietly to each other) :lmao: My son was 2.5 at the time and he kept asking us what they were doing? I thin kwe told him they were hugging or something silly. :rotfl:

I was there last week and they were out and about but not too bad but I think their "season" starts a little later in September if I recall correctly.

my daughter just came back todqay and thr first thing she said was i hate those stupid bugs they land on you and stick to the tan lotion

 From local news 13 (Orlando):

Lovebugs Bring Misery
They’re tiny and sometimes you may not even notice them, but it’s a nuisance that could leave your car losing its luster

It's that dreaded time of year, lovebug season. They may be friendly creatures, but a spattered insect can damage your car. That means drivers around Central Florida are keeping car washes busy.

Lovebug season happens twice a year, from April to May and again from late August to October.

A swarm of bugs can clog radiator fins and cause a car to overheat.
Their carcasses can be tough to remove and it only takes about 24 hours for the bugs’ bodies to eat away at a car's clear coat. Critter and Car experts both recommend washing off the bugs as soon as possible.

Lovebugs tend to fly only during the day, so if you really want to avoid the insects, drive at night.
Traveling at a slower speed will also help reduce the number of bugs spattered on your car.

:hippie: :drive: :duck:

They're really bad here as well. If anyone out there has plans to drive to WDW, they need to be prepared to stop often and clean the nasty things off their vehicles.

We drove to Baton Rouge today (about 60 miles) and we had to clean the windshield twice each way!!!
