I was wondering if anyone was at the parks right now. I read a post from someone who said the lovebugs will go away as fast as they came....Wondering if they were still around.

We leave in a couple of days.....hoping they will be gone :thumbsup2

I am not exactly sure what they are...I am not from Florida, though we have driven through swarms of them on the way to Disney before.

All I can tell you is they look like two bugs stuck together end to end. ANd there are a ton of them!!!!

Sorry. They are still here. They shouldn't be here too much longer.

they are still there cause my husband just came back from a business trip in orlando and stopped at ep for a day and counted how many he saw and there were 248. they are still there but they should be gone soon

How soon do you think?

I live in Florida and I have to ask: why all the concern about the lovebugs?? They don't bite or sting, they're not even ugly! They'll stick to your car windshield like glue, but other than that, y'all have nothing to worry about!

We just got back on Monday and they are still there in force! But no worries! As AladdinsPrincess said, they do not bite or sting or really bother anyone (unless they fly in your mouth)!

They're still here but not quite as *ahem* active as they have been. Today was much better than this past week has been.

There isn't anything worrysome about them, but they're a real pain when you have to be outside. We can't ride our bikes without getting smacked in the face every few seconds, and they're just plain annoying, even if they don't bite.

The bright side is, it's funny to hear children saying 'Mommy, why does that bug have two heads?' :teeth:

Your husband was at Epcot for a day and spent his time counting lovebugs? You need to help him plan things to see. Lovebugs shouldn't be at the top of the list. :rotfl2:

Children? I was in my 20s when I first encountered them and was convinced that there was a radioactive waste dump or something near by! :teeth:

They were definitely still around last night, but not nearly as thick as they were over the weekend (Saturday was the worst day around here in SW Orlando).

Hi,
We are in WDW right now and yes the Love Bugs are still out. We had to defend our fries from them earlier this afternoon.

I had never heard of lovebug until now since we've always gone to Disney in November. We are planning our next trip for May of next year. I googled lovebugs to learn more about them and it said that thy also come out in May. It also said that they get stuck all over your car from driving through them and that the acidic cemistry off their bodies can pit the pint on your car. Now, my DH details cars for a living and is fanatical about about keeping our cars clean. He could live with dead bugs on it, but not if they are going to damage the paint. So, I guess my quastion is are they that bad in May too?

Hopefully someone from FL will post about May. All I know is last year I was in WDW over Mother's Day weekend, and I don't remember the bugs. Since I'm in WDW right now, I can't imagine I would have missed them if they were around that time in May. I find them annoying now. I know they don't bite or hurt anything, but that doesn't mean I like it when they fly into my rootbeer float, or set squished on the back of my shorts when I sit down, I also don't like them crawling on my feet or getting trapped in by shoes throught the holes in my crocs.
