I often am appauled by the number of people who don't do anything at the hotel but sleep and maybe eat. Heres my thing. At most hotels it is awesome just to take some hot chocolate and walk through the courtyards at All Star Resorts. Now I'm staying at SSR and really don't know if there is anything to that sort at that resort. Tell me what you know. Thanx. :earseek: :earseek:

SSR is a gorgeous resort and you'll have plenty of areas to stroll around and enjoy the scenery. Go to the DVC section and there are plenty of pictures and descriptions of SSR.

I popped over there during our recent trip just to poke around and see what it was like. The resort is lovely -- but still has a very "unfinished" quality to it. It's big and sprawling, not unlike OKW, I think. There are plenty of pretty walkways all over the place -- it adjoins a golf course -- and just strolling through the main building is a treat.

One neat detail I noticed: as you know, the theme of the resort is Saratoga, New York, fabled for its horseracing. So the walls are decorated with pictures of famous horses and jockeys. But by the children's "check in area" -- where they have small chairs for kids to watch Disney videos while Mom and Dad check in -- the pictures lining the walls are of famous horses from Disney cartoons! ("Beauty and the Beast," "Hercules," et al) I just thought that was priceless -- and typical of the Disney touch that we all love so much. :D

All disney resorts have good places to walk. Moderates (in my opinion) have the best walking areas. It's fun to explore the resorts. I visited SSR and it has pretty fountains and nice places to relax and sip hot cocoa.

Thanks for the help. Do the building have any certain themes within the horse theme. Our youngest is curious and our oldest finds it confusing and likes a big theme best. Please help us again.

Hello ~

Our first night at Pop Century we took a walk all around. It was really nice. I also love the grounds at POR.

you are next to a lake and DD - there is plenty to see.

DVC takes pride in the little things - so believe me there will be alot to see.

except of course you can now have hot chocolate in your room....

I love DVC stays (and I generally stay in studios....)

Thanks for all the help guys. Any questions about the all-star hotels and I can answer those for you. (returning the favor) :flower1:
