Leaving tomorrow at 3pm on Delta.
Logged on to delta.com today a little before 3pm.
Kept refreshing until the "check in" button became available.
Checked on all four of us in about 5 minutes, got the seats we wanted (4A, 4B, 4C and 4D), and now don't have to be at the gate until 30 minutes before flight (although I'm a Nervous Nellie and will be there about an hour before, but it sure beats 2-2.5 hours before to ensure our seats are together).

I highly recommend on-line check in if your airline offers it.

Will you check your luggage with curbside check-in? So you don't have to go up to the front desks?

Another question - is it Song or Delta you are actually flying? We are doing Song in Dec (originally it was Delta) 7 AM flight. If I can check in the night before, that would save us a few hours sleep. Instead of getting up at 4 and being there by 5:30, we could actually sleep until 5:30 and get there by 6:30? We already have our seat assignments - could they change them? Also, the curbside check in is a good question too - do you use it?

I'm not the original poster, but I think you've forgotten about getting through security. No way you can get to a NY area airport at 6:30AM for a 7AM flight.

I've used the Delta & Song kiosk checkin at the airport for my last 4 trips and it is wonderful. It takes about 5 minutes and they check your bags and there has NEVER been a wait, whether it's at Dulles (Wash. DC) or Orlando. I was going to use the home site, but read that you had to check you bag at curb side, and I would prefer to check them inside. I always look at the huge line for the regular check in and wonder why more people don't use the kiosks, but that's OK with me now.

We're taking Delta next month but the website says you can only use the online checkin if you do not have any bags to check in. Otherwise, you must use either curbside checkin, kiosk, or good ole wait in line. We'll be waiting in line with all our baggage because Syracuse has no kiosk and the curbside just won't work for us with our car situation. I don't anticipate it will be too bad tho. We've never really had a very long wait in Syracuse in the wee hours of the morning.

We cannot check in online as we always have luggage to check with 2 DD's and it states you cannot use that feature if you have to check luggage.

We also love curbside check in and have never had a problem with it and it's VERY fast too! Probably 5 minutes max. Whether we get a ride or park our car, it always works out fine with no problems at all. I always tip the skycap well, though, so he'll take good care of our luggage!;)

I just saw the same thing yesterday.
We leave tomorrow at 1:20 from DFW and I was under the impression I could pull up to curbside check-in, drop bags directly w/ them and be bop over to gate.
Sounds great to me.
I am not sure I understand posters responses that they cannot use because they have to check in luggage. You can check luggage w/ the convenient curbside check in.
Hopefully all will go well tomorrow!

It's not that we cannot use curbside checkin. I know you can check your luggage with them. I have actually found it helpful on occasions but with the cooler weather and the fact that we'll be leaving our car parked in the garage, I think it will be easier on us just to walk to the checkin line inside. Syracuse is wierd - I have noticed sometimes there is curbside checkin and other times there isn't. But, if it is available and it looks more convenient for us, then, of course, we'll use it. ::yes::

Delta may have a good web check in process, but ATA's leaves a lot to be desired. In theory, you can do it 24 hours in advance. In practice, you are NOT going to get your assigned seat (I speak from experience...five out of our last six flights in less than a month).

Interesting. I'm going to check it out on the website because I didn't receive the email. If that's the case, then I'll do online checkin and check my luggage curbside. Extra points would be fine. :hyper:

I spoke with a Song rep today and was told I can check-in online and either give my luggage to sky-cap at curb or use the kiosk baggage area. Either way, online is my preferred method. We're leaving from Boston. (Although, I may call again to see If I get the same answer....)

Have done this numerous times with Continental and US AIR. We always do carry-ons only.Continental is 30 hrs before and US AIR is 24 hours ahead.
Besides the convenience of printing your boarding passes at home...........we always pick exit rows to get more leg room.(no kids in exit rows though).
As long as you have skycaps, you could still do this also.

Song's policies are the same as Delta's. We flew Song 2 weeks ago Verygood service and Very good food. Did online check in and have carry-ons only. Its great!!

We are flying tomorrow on Song and plan on checking in online today. In that past (on Delta), you could not use the online check in if you had baggage to check. I think this is great! Plus the extra miles are always helpful.
Does anyone know if we will get the 1000 miles for doing online check in for the flight home as well???

It is a one-time only bonus of 1000 miles for doing online checkin between the promotion dates.
