Working for Southwest Airlines rules...Love flying to Disneyland for the day. Be there in a few hrs. So far I have been at :cool1:least once a month...lol

I have a friend who is a pilot for Southwest. It sounds like a fun job. ESPECIALLY if you get to go to Disneyland!! :cool1:

OK back home from our day at disneyland. Flights were smooth and ontime.....Busy and hot so we did a lot of shopping, some people watching, few rides and hungout at Trader Sams again....love that place...might fly out tomorrow morning but not sure due to being very tired

Working at DLand is great fun, and my favorite airline is SWA. I even get some of my material from SWA flight attendants.

Well, I have a fun job too- preschool teacher! Unfortunately, it doesn't get me to DLR! :rotfl: Just the opposite. I have to go to DLR during crowded holiday times while school is out. Well, in any event, it pays for my trips. ;)

My mom's been an airlines worker for most of my life, and I do love being able to stop in Disneyland for the day whenever I'm on the mainland ... gets me past needing my Disney fix.
Unfortunately the nature of the business, and all the mergers and down/right-sizing of planes has made standby travel really difficult on the major carriers lately so for our big trips we end up buying airfare anyways rather than risk getting bumped to the next flight for several days running.
Awesome that you're able to use those perks as much as you do!:banana::love:

Does Southwest hire part timers? How often do you get free flights?

completely random question for the SWA employee.......DH and I purchased an extra ticket (3 seats - 2 people) for our flight because DH gets a little claustrophbic on planes, and with SWA's seating style, how can we make sure that we get a row to ourselves in order to have an open seat in the middle so DH can be in the aisle seat? I read about extra tickets and "larger" people on SWA's website and getting the pre-boarding pass thing - but that is not really our circumstance........

Obviously, I plan on trying to get A boarding by checking in exactly 24 hours in advance, but will we have problems with this extra ticket?

I guess my question is.......how do we "use" that extra ticket to save the seat once we board so others do not think it is an open seat?

sorry - I know this is random, but I am trying to figure out how to make this work and not lose the money we paid for the extra ticket.

That would be a question to ask a CSA at Southwest. We never run into that problem because we are from Arizona and take the first flight out and last flight in...not many ppl on those flights...
