Love My DVC!!!!!

Just a quick story:

My family decides at the last minute that we should go to Disney for Thanksgiving! My brother is going through a divorce and we all thought a change of venue for the holiday might be good for him.

Of course I told them they are out of their minds planning during a national
holiday so late. I call member services and as I expected, nothing available at any of the properties. They quoted me the cash price and i almost fell on the
floor.

So the next day I call back to see if any cancellations occurred, and the wonderful cast member reminded me of the Disney Collection! I completely forgot about that option. So.......

We are going to WDW for Thanksgiving! I'm getting two rooms at Corondado Springs for only 20 more points that the two bedroom villa!

I know -- it is not an efficient use of my points, I won't have the kitchen, living room, sunken tub and washer/dryer. But I will have my family around me during Thanksgiving at our favorite place.

I believe that the 'value' you have in your points goes beyond the cash value you see talked about so often on these boards. If your vacation is all that you want it to be then you have had success. Have a wonderful trip in that magical place!

I would have to agree with k3chantal!! "Value" is in the eyes of the beholder! There is something to be said about cash value but you still get to take the trip you want with your family and value of memories and experiences can far outweigh cash. Have a great trip!!

LOL. By far, my least favorite word discovered on the DIS. And the only place I've ever seen it. And add "pressies" for presents as well.
