This is not my first trip but it is my first trip report... I can only hope it doesn't put you to sleep or cause you to suffer any adverse reactions. Just in case you might not want to drive or operate heavy machinery while reading this report. Just a thought.
Okay, here goes...
Cast of Characters
Myself (Kat)
Sister (Sue)
Niece (Meg - 12 yrs old)
Our 2007 WDW trip started as all of our trips do 2 hours later than our scheduled departure time. Oh well, what we lack in punctuality we make up for in predictability. In our defense, we arent twiddling our thumbs and wasting time. We just always seem to find lots of last minute things to do before we can leave .apparently 120 last minute things hmmm, I really need to look into that. Luckily the drive was uneventful and we arrived at our first destination, Ocala, FL without incident. This was the location that I would be dropping off my sister to visit with friends for a couple of days while my niece and I went on to WDW. At least that was the plan, but then Meg decided to stay with her mom in Ocala, so I hit the last stretch of road solo. WDW Im coming your way!
I arrived at the Caribbean Beach Resort Hospitality House around 3 pm on Friday the 13! But in the best of the island traditions there were no worries mon. Check-in was a breeze and within minutes I was winding my way to my home in Barbados. I unloaded the car, and took off for Old Port Royal. It was definitely food time.
After eating, I decided to head to Downtown Disney for a little practice in body dodging and some atmospheric enrichment. Now I have to say that even though I often shop and dine solo at home, being alone in the World felt strange. Its just not as much fun to dance and sing in public without someone there to be embarrassed by me .not that that stopped me. I got up and clawed and punched my way through the High School Musical dance steps with all the other kids at the DD Dance Party. I cruised over to Pleasure Island and debated going to the Comedy Warehouse but ultimately decided that I was pooped and was beginning to hear the steele drums of the islands calling me home or maybe it was music coming from that speaker behind me. Either way I was inspired to make my way to the bus and head for my Barbados home. Tomorrow I was going to tackle Epcot.
