We are avid fans of all things Disney and go to Disneyland 3 times per year. I have always wondered what Legoland is like and would we enjoy it. I am not sure that my husband, 16 year old daughter and I will find it too young. We are not necessarily thrill ride seekers I just wonder if we could enjoy the rides and not feel like we are too big to fit in them or too old to have fun. Do you know what I mean? What rides in particular are most suited for us?
Thanks Marilyn:thumbsup2

Hi -

I'm new to this board. We are planning on going to Disneyland again late February or early March for a week and adding legoland and Seaworld this time around.

My kids will be 5 and 3.5. I'm hoping they will enjoy it. I don't know much about Legoland (other than the everything is legos;) ).

I'm hoping to find a better place to stay this year than last and some tips and tricks on transportation and such.

I guess this doesn't really help you with your question :confused3 ....but I'm hoping to see what answers you get regarding the rides.:)

Hi,
Im new to this board too! But anyways, I live down in San Diego and Legoland should be great for kids and as a family trip. I went there with my little sister a few months back and we had a great time. Mostly all the rides there are for kids wont be much fun for older people, but that place is amazginly made, great sights even if you dont end up riding anything. Have Fun!!

We went to Lego land today and my younger children (4 and 6) had a blast!! My 13 year old was pretty bored. My husband and I had fun because we had to ride with the little ones (a lot of rides have height restrictions). They do have rides that adults can enjoy also, but it is no comparison to Disneyland.

There's a small roller coaster, a pirate ship ride that swings around, a boat ride showing big lego creations (sydney opera theater, mount rushmore).

Personally, if it were me and my husband, we would not come by ourselves.

I am not a huge fan of Legoland, but it is cute. The atmosphere and theming is great, and I love that there are healthy snack options. But the lines there take forever, even when it is not crowded, because everything is so slow loading.

It's cute to check out, but for my money, Disney is the way to go.

I think for younger kids, Legoland is more fun than Disneyland. It is still my son's favorite park and he is 9.

For adults - if you can overlook the lack of thrill rides, the park is still worthwhile. I would go for miniland alone (cities built out of legos). There will be a few rides that are fun, although not thrilling. It will probably only take you a few hours to do the whole park since so much is geared to young kids though.

I adore the park, but I have always gone with a young child. Going with the under 10 set...very fun. Over 10...kids generally find it very lame as it is geared for the younger set. It is worth seeing as an adult...but not for the price of admission!!!!! In December I will taking two adult friends who will be visiting. (I have free tickets for them). I plan to be there 3ish hours before they are done with the park.
So, good chance 2 adults and a teenager would regret the money spent!!!
Have fun whatever you decide!!!

Marilyn, I'm not raising my kids correctly, apparently.

My belief is that anything with the Mouse is better than anything else. My kids haven't gotten that yet.

They're teenagers now and still insist that EVERY trip to CA include a stay at Legoland. They like it better than DL.

I'm so ashamed. :confused3

We were there a couple of years ago. My preteens at the time were very board. They are not thrill seekers but they still thought the park was aimed at kids under 10.

I went to lego land and I thought it was quite neat there. Kinda liked it but I thought it would be a whole lot better if I had little kids with me. I would think little kids would definately appreciate it a whole lot more.

Our last visit when DS was 11 was fun, we rode everything, played with Mindstorms and enjoyed the miniland! Food was good and great shopping if you are a Legomaniac!! For a less stressful day, we like Legoland. Easy to get around, and whenever we have been there, fairly quiet. We stayed right nextdoor at the Grand Pacific Palisades Hotel.

The rides are mostly for younger kids, but a few small rollercoasters.

Have fun.
