Love Bugs?

OK, this question may sound strange but, have any of you recent travelers seen the infamous "Love bugs" that pretty much infested the place the early part of September last year? We were told by the locals that they are only around for a few weeks each year, but they were really a nuisance. They were small flying black bugs that were always found in twos (hence the "love bug" name). Since we are leaving tomorrow, my kids keep asking if those pestering bugs will be around this year!
