I agree-I also was there in September 06 and they were really gross. I asked around, and the CMs said that they hadn't seen a season nearly like that in over 5 years. I've been to WDW in May and never seen anything like that. I also went back in 2007, around the same time, and they weren't nearly as bad as September 06. Here's a picture at BCV in 06. I remember not even being able to sit at the bus stop, they were so bad-

Hard to say but yes absolutely 2006 in our experiences seemed by far the most we'd ever seen 'em

We've been in April early and late and didn't really notice them at all.

We've been in August mid-month 1x and last week/into 1st week of September 6x; with exception of 2006 barely noticed them.

I'm like your wife and I was ABSOLUTELY repulsed by those bugs - in September 06. We were at WDW in September for 4 years straight - 2005 through 2008 and the only year we actually saw the love bugs was in 2006 (plus one time in May but we're talking September here). So hopefully that year was an aberration with the sheer volume...

We were there in late September also and wondered if that was the norm for "bugginess." We would walk down a path and they would just scatter like crazy starting about a foot ahead of where we were walking. It was almost comical.

Yeah, some of the places were just covered with those bugs. Disney did a good job cleaning them up but it looked like a love bug armagadden!!
