LOVE BUGS and CROWDS IN MAY

OK I need your help...my family took a trip this past September and LOVE BUGS WERE EVERYWHERE. We heard they come out for a week in Sept and a week in May. Is this true?

ALSO how are the crowds in mid MAY....we are thinking May 08 for the next trip!!!!! BUT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CROWDS AND BUGS... THANKS!

We've gone several times in mid-May right around Mother's Day. The crowds aren't bad at all - except on Mother's Day. I think some of the locals take their mothers to dinner at Epcot and MK. In 2004, we were in MK on Mother's Day and it was a nightmare but the rest of the week was wonderful. I don't remember ever having any problem with love bugs either. We're going may 10-20 at Pop! That is such a great time to go! I wish our April trip could've been in May but our AP's expire May 1st! We have gone this time before and have never had a problem with the love bugs. DD is deathly afraid of bugs and if there were any lovebugs she would've flipped out. The weather is perfect swimming weather and the crowds are light. You'll have a great time!

April's not such a bad time to go either. We went in April one time and the crowds were light although it was before the spring breakers were there. We went to Blizzard Beach one day and about froze. The waters heated but it must've been only about 70 degrees. Other days though it was plenty warm to swim. I can't wait to go - we usually only go for a week but this time it's 10 days! Have a good time!

oh great I appreciate all your help! SO my big question is whats better SEPTEMBER or MAY? We want light crowds and NO LOVE BUGS this past trip in September was just miserable at the pool end of September...bugs all over you, all over your drink, all over the chairs YUCK I get the chills thinking about it.

We went for the first time April 30 to May 14th. I Never knew what they were called but the second week there we had a lot of flying bugs around the pool everywhere always on each other, it felt like may fly season here in Nova Scotia. I thought they were harmless enough however if you don't swipe it off you , it will bite after a spell. nothing serious but bothersome. Kids hated them....teen girls. So if thats what the love bugs are they were out in Windsor Hills resort May 7 - 14th......sorry

We go every year in May (the 1st or 2nd week) for about 8 or 9 days.
Last year we were there for 9 days around Mother's Day.
The ONLY time we saw the love bugs was when we were at the CBR pool...did not see them at any parks, even the waterparks.

Crowd-wise...May is a GREAT time to go -- but don't let the word get out or more people will start going then.

OK is there any way to find out when these love bugs are out...it just about ruined every pool day for us this past September....just don't want to have that happen again. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

I have been in both Sept. and May and have never experienced any problems with love bugs. We were there last year for Mother's Day and the crowds were not so bad. I like September better though. It was less crowded.
