Ok, so I've been reading a lot about these love bugs and I'm getting a bit concerned. :rotfl: I have a major, MAJOR bug phobia and it sometimes comes to the point where I cry and shake when something lands on me. The thought of their little feet crawling on me just gives me nightmares :scared1:!

Ok, so now the question. . How are they in the parks? I have a trip scheduled in late July and I was wondering if they are flying around like mad during that time. :rotfl: .. hahahaha! Thanks!

I know I shouldn't admit to this but when I first read a post about "love bugs" along time ago, I thought they were talking about couples walking around kissing on each other :lmao: :rotfl2:  I was there in June 04 and don't remember seeing alot of bugs. Of course I live in the country and are used to bugs landing on me.

I've noticed that they are usually around at the beginning and end of summer when the weather is more warm than scorching hot. So July is usually very hot so hopefully they won't be around. Beginning of summer, end of May and beginning of June, and also late Sept they are usually around.

You're safe.

They visit in May and then again from Mid Sept to mid Oct....

They don't bite, but are annoying!!!

Also, they don't sting or bite so they weon't hurt you.

Also they die out pretty quickly because they don't eat once they are mature, only eat as larvae. So they aren't around for long periods of time. maybe a few weeks to mate, lay eggs then die. Then the larvae eat again mature and it happens all over again. That's why they're only around for certain times of the year.

haha thanks loves! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I just seen a picture of them on another thread. & I do remember seeing them maybe a couple of them.. and I was so petrified. haha. You would think that I'd be okay since I'm from Jersey and we have grasshoppers and locusts flying everywhere during the july season... in fact im not even okay with that!!!!!!! LOL!! I just do not like bugs in any way, shape or form!!! eeeeppies!

Hey Disney Babe..

Just noticed you are from NJ as well!!

Hi Fellow New Jerseyan!!!

South Jersey here!!

Don't think I am weird, but I like checking people disboard profiles, to find out more about then and saw that our birthdays are one day apart....

Very Cool!!

BTW....I see you work for Celebrity Cruise line. Are you a travel agent?

When my son starts preschool next year, I really want to get into that field, but have no idea where to start.

Any suggestions?

Thanks....:goodvibes

Oh yay! I love meeting people from Jersey as well!! I'm from Northern NJ, Bayonne to be exact ;) I am not a travel agent, however I check people onto the ship.. check their documents to make sure everything is in tact. If they don't have the right documents I have to deny them boarding :scared1: which in some cases gets really bad. If you have any questions Id be more than happy to answer them ;)

Cool!!

So, you work at like a port where the boat docks, before their departure?.

That sounds like fun, minus the ugly situations you might encounter.

So, what does one need to get on the ship....drivers license and passport?

Do you get discounts on the cruise?

I am dying to go on a Disney cruise when DS gets bigger...he is only 3 right now...

Do you have any plans on becoming a travel agent?

Yes, I work at Cape Liberty Cruiseport in Bayonne, NJ. I meet a lot of people from around the area as well as those from other states & countries. It's quite exciting :upsidedow!

You must present your birth certificate (no photo copies & must have state seal on it) & valid photo ID (mostly use their drivers licenses). Although many now resort to passports, in the year 2009 birth certificates & photo Id's will not be accepted and everyone must have a passport in order to travel. (this is what I'm told, the actual law was supposed to have been passed this year but the govt. is so behind with issuing passports that they have extended the date). For children under 13, a valid id is not necessary; however you must present their birth certificates.

I do not have any plans to become a travel agent, although sounds like a good idea. I'm currently working towards a degree in teaching :scared:

I know it's like such a complicated process when you really think about it! you're so stressed going on vacation!! you want to relax and enjoy but instead you're too busy worrying about your documents!! :lmao:

I'm looking to teach kindergarten or 1st grade. :yay: I love children so much, and I want to be able to make a difference in their education. However, it's so stressful! haha. I'm only in my first year... (I should have graduated a year ago but I made a switch to schools and things got complicated).

It sounds as stressful as when NJ implicated that new 6 point rule in getting your license a couple of yrs ago...wasn't that fun?? :rotfl2:

That is great.

I went to school for business and hated it...never finished..

But, I am enjoying being a mom at doing temp work for now.....

Once he gets older, I want to try and get into the travel agent field...

I would love to specialize in Disney..go figure...LOL

yes, being a mom is a full time job, and while stressful at time, I wouldn't change it for the world..

Yes, making sure y ou had all the correct documents was ridicolous.....

But,I guess they are doing what they can to try and make us feel safe...

oh and they smell really bad and if you get them on your car go wash them off as much as you can because it will take the paint off your car....
