i am in need *once again* of some love and support from my friends.....
long story so bear with me....
yesterday am ds got up and said he had a sore throat. ok no big deal. i just thought maybe he was coming down with something. ya know how kids are. ok i go to work and my mom calls at lunch time and says he did not eat very well. ok. maybe not hungry today. no big deal. then around 2:00 she calls and said he says he has an ear ache. so i say ok, no karate tonight i'm out at 3:00 i call the dr when i get home. i am like 2 minutes (no kiddin')from home. so i get home he looks a little pale but says he feels all wishy washy. ok. let's take the temp. 99.9. ok lets call the dr. she says bring him right in. ok. so i figure they are going to tell me ear infection, antibiotics and have a good night. now the dr's office is right next door to where i work. so we get there and john says, mummy look at this rash on my arm! what? what rash? it was not there when we left the house? sure enough. rash. ok what's that about? so they take us right in and the dr comes in looks at the rash and says -well you are going to take a trip to the hospital. what? so i figure i'll go home pick up some legos and some *guys* for him to play with while we wait at the hospital and then the dr comes back and says -oh good the ambulance is here!- what. wait a sec. ambulance. are ya kiddin? nope. the rash is what they call petechiae. it could be meningitis!!! OMG! i was so freaked out. i called dh at work, giddy up and meet me at the e.r. ok so it takes about 20-25 minutes to get there. well it felt like an hour to me. they did test after test after test. blood work. oh good grief. finally after waiting for *ever* they came back and said 98% sure not meningitis. ok so that's good. but what is it? take him home watch him good through the night and bring him back to dr.s in the am. which i did and she sent us for more blood work this am. something about his platelets are dropping. so here i sit waiting and worrying. he looks pale and keeps stopping his play to have a little rest. - so not like him at all. i'm thinking i'd like him to lay down with me and rest but that might be pushing it!!!! he is 6 after all!!!!
so all in all, i need some good thoughts and hugs and love and prayers from all my bff's!
