I am sure Evergreens gets mostly golfers coming in for a "quick" lunch. Those who are out golfing at that location, I suggest with sticking to a hot dog cart.
We had lunch today at Evergreen's, and both the service and food were bad. In our group there were two people who said their sandwiches were fine/good.
Two of us did not like our food at all, but so starved by the time it did come we would have eaten shoe leather in a bun. The remainder were mum.
Bad enough for the food, but the service was the worse I recall experiencing at table service in a long time anywhere. I did not even leave a tip. And I don't know if I have EVER done that.
My bill came to $8.90 for a small ice tea and a sandwich that tasted no better than something from a gas station. (If not even as good.) And it was over an hour before our food came to us.
At half that price I would have felt nearly cheated. For $8.90 and bad/rude service it was ridiulous.
A party of two entered the restaurant just ahead of us and was finished and leaving long before we received our meals. None in our party ordered anything unusual -- just salad, burgers, sandwiches. Service started out okay and went progressively worse.
Reminded me of that old joke -- Nice place to have a restaurant. One person in our party did speak to a higher up about our meal.
This was our second time here. The first time we recall how slow the food arrival was. We thought it was a fluke.
This visit made the last meal there seem pleasurable.
Even the noise level was so bad we could barely hear one another. Mostly I think due to poor surroundings not suitable for any noise level. No one was particularly LOUD. Just nothing to absorb the sounds.
Big ol' Goose Egg on a scale from 1 - 5.
My sympathies to anyone eating at Evergreens. I would not eat a meal there if it were free! It would be two hours of time lost.

To add insult to injury, I just checked my checking account balance. On this charge against my debit card, they automatically added a 20% tip.
I specifically wrote a "0" in red ink at the tip line.
It's a minor amount. but the principal. Poor, rude service at a 20% tip? I think not.

We had a bad experience at Evergreens also and will never go back. Mostly the food quality was poor.:sad2:

I am writing a letter tonight to the GM of SoG.
The food and service was poor, and extremely slow. Okay. I lived over that and just know better than to return.
But then to have the amount changed that I authroized -- that really irked me. I consider that fraud.
AND then find out another in our group (who left a cash tip on the table) was also charged an additional 20% on her credit card in addition, that she too did not authorize!
Like me, she actually filled in the tip area with a zero.
One other person paid by card too and will see if they were charged an extra 20%, besides what they left as cash for the tip. I am guessing the answer is yes.
We were not a party of 8, nor were told an additional 20% would be added automatically (or not) as a tip.
As one person noted there was enough cash left on the table as a tip to cover all anyway.
The other overcharged person called and spoke with the manager of that area today. He told her her bank must have added on the extra tip. :sad2: Oh please.
Normally I just figure bad restaurant experiences are a live and learn xperience and let it go. But this really honks me off.

Call you credit card company. That is fraud!! They will probably charge back the whole lunch. Did you maintain a copy of your receipt? That might be helpful. Good luck!
