Our recent trips don’t have much planning involved. We have been there done that, and enjoy just taking things in at whatever pace we want and being more spontaneous. We have enjoyed eating in the lounge areas of California Grill, Brown Derby lounge (shrimp and grits :p ) and Sanaa (hello naan!) Any other lounge suggestions to get a meal on the fly?

Thanks!!!

Territory lounge (WL)
Geyser point (outdoor) (WL)
Victoria Falls (AKL)
Jiko's bar (AKL)
Crew's Cup Lounge (YC)
Tutto Gusto (wine cellar Epcot Italy pavilion)
Nomad Lounge (AK)

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Trader Sam's, the food was good as well as the drinks and the room entertainment was the best.

Nomad Lounge at AK, we love it and try to eat there at least once a trip.
The Wave lounge at the CR is pretty good, there is seating at the bar and there are little tables in the lounge area.
We also like Tutto Gusto, one of the few places left you can get a wine flight in WS.
Spice Road tables, while not a lounge, is almost always good for a walk up. More often than not they will seat you outside and they have great small plates.
We had a decent meal at the bar at Poly, I think it's called Tabu but I wouldn't swear to that.
Geyser Point at WL was o.k. for us, the day we were there it was really windy and a tad chilly but the service was good, not great food but not bad.
Like you, we love the HBD lounge because I love me some Cobb Salad and Grapefruit cake.
Jiko's lounge was also good, we actually had a better experience there than at Jiko's itself and next time will just go to the lounge instead.
The new craft beer place at HS has limited food, mostly just bar type things but the beer flights are pretty good.

Baseline taphouse, excellent beers and a good pretzel!
Nomad Lounge, a must for us.
Mizners at GF. Great drinks and apps from Citricos and you can enjoy the band.
Big River Brewery at the BW, not a lounge per se, but a great spot for apps and drinks.

Nomad lounge.
haven't tried it, but we looked at the menu for the Wave and it looked good.
Mizners - great drinks, appetizers and an awesome Jazz band.

Love Territory Lounge at WL. Great service, great atmosphere, and the menu is decent with some really tasty items.

Our favorites are Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, the outside bar at the Boathouse, Nomad Lounge, and Trader Sam's.

I've always wanted to try lounge dining, particularly Brown Derby but have always been worried getting seated. Are they usually open all day? And are they ok with kids eating too (sharing mine most likely)?

We haven’t had any problem getting seated. If there isn’t a table available, you can wait at the bar and grab a drink at Brown Derby. Last time we were there they had a hostess who put you on a list. Our son was with us and just wanted an order of fries to snack on, but they do have meals kids can order.

The lounge at California Grill does fill up so it’s usually recommended you go early 430-5 for dinner. My family of 5 went at 5 o’clock once for an unplanned treat. We shared some apps and meals and enjoyed the view.
