Hey all...A friend of mine just returned from a trip on RCCL and she mentioned to me that she could hear the couple next door during their "nightly activities" :ssst: and was unhappy with the thickness of the walls...

Any problems like this on DCL...I'm a light sleeper and that would definitely have me up all night!

I noticed noises more from our neighbors when we booked a stateroom that was "adjoining" i.e. a door connecting the staterooms....

Other than that, we have never noticed any noise in the adjacent staterooms...

On our cruises the only time we noticed noise from the cabin next door was when one couple spent their early morning out on their balcony, talking very loudly. I suppose if we would have had our balcony door shut it may have helped some, but I still think we could have heard them even then. We always like to have our balcony door open at night so we can sleep with the sound of the ocean.

But regular noise between rooms we did not hear.

I agree with Alexandrew- if you are concerned about noise- DONT book an adjoining room!

We could hear a lot!

We didn't realize that it was adjoining when we booked it, and were unsuccessful at changing it. It didn't ruin our trip or anything, but I won't make the same mistake next time! :goodvibes

I suppose you could get quite a show. DH and I were on our Honeymoon in 1995 at Carribbean Beach resort was able to hear the family next door fighting about the affair her husband had and took the family to WDW to soften the blow.

The rooms with a connecting door are definitely louder. Other than that, we rarely hear very much through the wall. If you have loud people with a verandah, you'll hear that a lot more than sound through the walls. My favorite stateroom, 5650, only has a neighbor on one side, which helps to minimize the chances of noise. Also, if you are a party of three, book by other threes rather than near rooms that can house a quad. Less people means less noise potential.
