We were just in the parks this week for 3 days and rides were going down left and right. From Peter Pan to Roger Rabbit, to Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, IASW and Matterhorn. The list is endless! We even were stuck in the Soarin line unable to get out for a solid 25 min. I felt trapped.

I do love Disney and will always come back. We had an amazing time, but what is with all the breakdowns?!?!

It happens a lot, especially following a peak period where everything is in operation at max capacity. It's not exclusive to Disneyland either. It has to do (1) with rider error and (2) with maximum use. A lot of these rides will be going down for refurbs in the next few months during the "off season".

The only snafu we had XMas week was Little Mermaid stopping for 10 minutes. WE WERE RIGHT NEXT TO URSULA. I still hear her voice.

Indy is always breaking down, the rest are probably just a coincidence or rides in need of repairs that were delayed until after the holiday season.

I will grant the vast majority of what you wrote but still had major issues with Dis this week. First we used our magical morning on Tues only to see Space MT being down along with Matterhorn and all of Adventure land. They should've restored everyone's magical morning given how many rides were down.

...but Adventureland is never open during MM just Fantasyland and Tomorrowland?

I've been during very crowded times, but this week the rides were constantly going down. What's the "rider error" that causes the malfunctioning? Just wondering.

Also, we were in line for Peter Pan when it went down, kept waiting for a solid 20 min but they never made an announcement at all. We had to climb over people to get out. It was NOT magical.

Adventure Land is NEVER open during early morning. Sometimes Disney can't control which rides go down because things happen, and they shouldn't have done anything. There have been times where multiple rides during early morning at disneyland were down, does it suck? Yes. But should they give people another early morning hour? No because it's not their fault.

Ride error is when someone trips the sensor, if you don't get off fast enough it can cause the ride to go down, or if you cross certain lines (like when you are about to get on a ride) it can cause issues. Peter Pan has those issues as does Indy. Indy is incredibly sensitive to those things which is why it goes down a lot, but sometimes one of the vehicles just dies and they can't move it right away.

Adventureland isn't included in Magic Morning, only Tomorrowland and Fantasyland.

Pirates went down a couple times last week (Dec 27th-30th). Both times in the morning. A friend of ours was on it with her DD for about 20min not moving. She was stuck by the dog holding the keys and she said the whistling was driving her nuts. There were a couple other breakdowns that didn't last long I remember seeing on the app but really it was a terrific week in that regards.

I've had trips where ride breakdowns always seemed to happen right when I had planned to ride and threw off my schedule for the day. Especially when things like RSR and Toy story are both down at park opening on the only day of our trip where DCA did not have EMH. That happened to us before. Amen ive been in line for Indy to the point where I am going down the stairs and can see the ride vehicles loading and unloading and then it breaks and they don't know how long it will be and ask everyone to exit. They did give us a FP good for any ride when that happened but it still sucked to have gone that far in line.

1st week Dec, Indy was down at least twice when we were there and we were at DL only for 3 days.
Worst was my day at Fantasyland, first PP was down after we "walked" there at RD, then when CM told us all to leave the queue area, I went over to Alice.
Within 5-10 min of waiting at Alice, Alice also went down.
Later our plan was for Toad, and that was also down... I was going along the outside queue area and was like "wow there's no one in line" only to come at the end to a CM telling me that it is down .

Also, we were in line for Peter Pan when it went down, kept waiting for a solid 20 min but they never made an announcement at all. We had to climb over people to get out. It was NOT magical.
It is NOT MAGICAL when a ride goes down period.

kept waiting for a solid 20 min but they never made an announcement at all

At least it was better than what we encountered at Monster Inc.
CM announced that ride is down after waiting 10mins (yes for this ride it is long).
A minute later tells everyone to leave... only to tell us all ONE minute later that ride is ready to go.
Some people already left the line, we were almost out of the door but lucky enough to heard the CM.

Never knew Indy breaks down a lot. That's one of the rides that hasn't broken down for me I've been stuck on space mountain, haunted mansion, POTC, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid and I think more can't think of right now. Those stick out in my mind because they were for several minutes

Wow, this an interesting thread, Indy has always been down for me and never encountered problems elsewhere.....as for the MM Adventureland, I found on one visit right after the MM hour that Adventureland and NOS was not operating as the rope dropped for those areas as folks piled up in lines. I was headed to splash anyhow, so no consequence for me

when i started going back as an adult 10 years ago i was at first surprised but am now used to the frequent breakdowns. when i was a kid maybe i just didnt notice. the best thing to do is get a multi-day pass. i don't recall a ride being down 2 days in a row.

Indiana Jones is always having issues and going down! You are lucky that you haven't experience that. Last time we rode it a couple of months ago we were just about to get on when the ride stopped Some people waited.. some instantly got out of line.. we waited for about 20 minutes in that spot since it was just about midnight and would be our last ride. Well, when it looked like nothing was happening we decided to get out of line. We were directed over to the elevator and made our way back up and the second we got out of the elevator the ride started going so we quickly ran over and asked if we could get our spot back in line and they said yes! Phewf! That was just too close.. if the ride started once we made our way out then so be it ... but this was legit torture! Right as the doors opened everything started up again!

As for all of the other rides ... there is always something down.. usually things get up and running pretty quickly, but occasionally they don't. I kills the moment a little for sure ...especially if you have been in line for quite some time, but I always just go and find another ride and all is well again :)

Did not know this even so only Star Tours was open. Put this way the several rides still were not open in areas for magical morning. Space MT. and Matterhorn were not open.

I've noticed a lot of ride breakdowns, too, especially during my December visit. I was thinking it was probably because there are 2 or 3 times more people riding the rides than when the rides first came out.
