We are going to BCV in February. We are renting points from a DVC member. We only had enough $$ for a studio. One of our family members has been very sick this year. We just stayed in a hotel last weekend and my two year old was in a crib in the same room. He woke up several times and the ill family member is now thinking they shouldn't go. The question is, has anyone ever received a free upgrade on a room? If we had even a one bedroom, my two year old should be able to sleep through the night if we put his crib in the room. How do I even go about asking for this?

Also, it is my two year olds first time, he is a Mickey Mouse fan. Any special ideas?
It is going to be my daughter's 8th birthday and she is a princess fan.
We are also celebrating our 10th anniversary, a bit early- it is in May,because of the sick family member. Any ideas or suggestions? I am trying to make this the most special trip ever for my family. Thanks so much!

DVC is run a bit differently than the regular resorts. It is pretty rare to get an upgrade at check-in. Since you are renting points, I don't think you would be able to pay in cash the difference to upgrade to a 1BR. (Although I'm not positive about that) When in Feb are you going?

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a "free upgrade" in a DVC room. You'd have to rent additional points and book the room accordingly.

We celebrated my DS 3rd birthday in Oct and had lots of fun! Make sure to get the "It's My Birthday" pins at guest realtions at each park, they write the kids name on it. My son was so happy that the CMs called him by his name and wished him a Happy Birthday! Let the CM know when you arrive for meals about birthdays & anniversaries too.

You can meet the Princesses and Mickey at character meals or at places throughout the parks for photos and autographs. We like to head over to Toontown at MK and get autographs there, if you can get there early enough the lines are more managable and there are usually a couple of Princesses and Mickey & Friends. More bang for your wait! Have a great time!
