You know the song and dance... search is down!

Soooooooooo.....

1) Anyone know where the grills are located? What are the odds that we will be somewhat near one? And I am assuming they are charcoal? Also, are they clean or should I expect to have to ungunk it.

2) When driving around the World... what signs do you follow to get to OKW... Epcot Resorts? Down Town Disney?

3) How When do the boats start running and how late (in early Feb) do the boats to DTD run? And are there buses that go to DTD too?

4) Which bus(es) can take to the TTC?

5) If going to another resort (Contempory, Poly, VWL) which might be faster... taking a bus to TTC then a bus to the hotel, or taking a bus/boat to DTD then a bus from there? I am thinking a bus to the TTC for the monorail resorts, but what about VWL?

6) Winn Dixie.... Where is it? And is there another cheaper grocrey store closer?

7) What is the order for the bus stops...

8) And lastly... if your taking Mears or Tiffany, will they wait until after you check in then drive you to your villa? If not, and it is a long way from the HH... are you stuck with bussing it?

Thanks bunches......:wave2:

The grills are by the pools. There is an especially nice covered area by the Turtle Pond pool. I'm not sure about the condition. They are charcoal.

I believe it's listed as a Downtown Disney Resort. It's practically next to Port Orleans and just down the road and a left/right/left (5 minutes) from BWV.

Not sure about the boat schedule -- there are always buses that run, too.

I don't think any bus goes to TTC (not sure why you would want to go there). You can transfer to other resort buses at DD.
If for some reason you need to go to TTC, you could take the MK bus and then the monorail.

To other resorts DD would be faster. You can also consider other options -- taking the bus to MK when it's open puts you on the monorail line. WL is always tricky to get to. You might even consider cabbing that one if you don't have a car.

Winn-Dixie is right out by the Marketplace. The directions are easy but I leave the specifics to someone else. Publix is also a simple drive.

I think the buses run Peninsular, South Point, Old Turtle Pond, Miller Road, Hospitality House. Some buses also stop HH both in and out.

Mears won't wait but there is full bell service to your villa. They have golf cart type vehicles that take you and your luggage.

Winn-Dixie - right out of OKW, pass SSR, turn right at the end of the road, get in left lane, make left onto Hotel Resorts Blvd (across from DD bus station), left at the end (across from Crossroads), it's on the right about a mile, right past ABC Liquor. Signup for a shopper card, they have certain items on sale each week.

Thanks Pam! I thought heading to the TTC would be the best way to get to monorail resorts, but your right, taking a bus to MK and hopping on the monorail there works. But you think DTD might be faster???

Yup we got one! Thanks for the reminder Debbie!

It really depends on the time of day you want to go to other resorts. If you want a monorail resort, and you know MK is open during the times you want to travel, then going to the MK and hopping the monorail is your best bet. If you are looking at one of the other resorts you could take a bus from MK to those too, but AKL would be best accessed from DTD because the other route for this (AK) is an early closing park at this time of year. if you are headed to WL during park hours, there is a boat dock between the MK bus stop and the Monorail ramp that goes to WL.

The last time we were there, the boats were running every 20-3- minutes, but I understand they were getting bigger boats, so that schedule might have changed. I will be down there tomorrow, so I'll check that out.

We have used the grills a couple of times with good success. Last time, it seemed like too much touble, so we just put our steaks under the broiler in the oven.

I agree. If the MK is open, I always head there to get on the monorail. To get to the BW/Y&B/S&D area, you can plan it as part of your Epcot trip -- just head over that way when you get to Great Britain or if you want to get directly there, you could take the bus to MGM and then walk or boat over to the area.

The only time I really transfer at DD is at night when the parks are closed, usually the return from a resort. In the future, I think I'd weigh the benefits of cabbing it back since this can sometimes take an additional hour or more. Very frustrating to take 1 1/2 hours from BW to OKW when going by car takes less than 10 minutes including valet pick-up and parking the car at OKW. ;)

I agree, Pam. It is one of the reasons we usually rent a car. We usually have at least 4 people, so it makes sense both from the standpoint of airport transportation and grocery shopping as well as those after park hours trips to other resorts. Since we like to do restaurants at the resorts, we often will use our rental car to run over to the BW, Poly, GR, WL, or AKL if we will be there after park hours. We sometimes take the car to AK too because of the long bus ride there.
