Lots of flight cancellations and delays at MCO today

We flew in yesterday, but many flights cancelled today. Hotel lobby is full of people waiting on delayed flights. The weather is not that bad just rain, but visibility seems pretty bad. Im guessing flight cancellations are due to air traffic control needing to reduce flights.
What I’ve learned is I think with any tropical storm or hurricane hitting anywhere in Florida it’s a good idea to move flight up a day or two if you can. I hope those on the Wish tomorrow make it.

Talked to someone recently whose family was delayed 5 days due to the IT issue. (not for a cruise). It's hard for me to feel confident of arriving on time, even building in a several day buffer anymore, regardless of weather. Even though my flight tomorrow is not near the storm, I'm already worrying we'll get some kind of ripple effect delays or cancellations from it.

It’s kinda weird because the weather isn’t that bad here. I rarely make threads, but I just wanted to advise people to keep an eye on the weather this time of year. I think with all the uncertainty with this particular storm the airlines didn’t issue travel advisories with the option of changing. Once flights start cancelling you’re pretty screwed for availability on another flight.
Just because your cruise isn’t in danger of cancelling your flight might be so keep that in mind.

Air Traffic Control en route may often puts restrictions. Looking at flight tracking sites today, aircrafts are flying in and out of MCO, but are definitely flying around the hurricane/storm area. As the system gets stationary later this week over the Carolinas, I can see some further travel disruptions and ATC restrictions

We left the Hyatt at mco around 2 pm. Looking at the board it looked like about half were cancelled and some were delayed.

We leave for FLL on the Magic on Thursday. Already stressing our flight on Wednesday evening.
I always stress about flights. It seems like its always something. I fly pretty often. I think 3 out my last four the mechanics have came onboard after we boarded and than a couple of weeks ago the flight attendant didn’t show up. You just never know.
