Its been eight years since we were last at the Fort. But no longer. Just got reservations for December 10-18. Not only are we headed back but we've never seen DW with the Christmas decorations.

I know things at the Fort have changed. Lots of clearing and improvements in sites. We did manage to get a premium site so I'm sure it will have lots of concrete pad.

We pick up our new toy hauler this Friday or next week. Its going to be around 44' long. When I called and got all our stuff confirmed with Disney, I realized after the call she never asked about the size of the camper. Was that a mistake or are all the sites pretty much big enough to handle most anything in a premium spot? I know some are hard to get into but that seems to be more the fault of others parking where they shouldn't, etc.

I don't care what loop we're in. We've done 209 and 533 before so a different loop would be just fine with us. Always cool to stay at new places in the campground. I just don't want to get there and be assigned a spot that sticks the nose of the camper into the road.

I think the general reply will be to call back and have them note your rig size in your reservation to ensure they give you an appropriate site....others might have better info about which loops are tougher for maneuvering the larger rigs around...

The Premiums are 18' wide and at least 55' long paved on the short side with room cleared out on all three sides for slide-outs, awnings, and overhangs. Do what 4077 suggests to ensure a fit and you should be fine.

Congrats on getting the December dates. That's typically nice weather AND decorations are up in the resorts by then.

There is an app called Sites at the Fort by **********.net. It lists the size of all sites at the net, where the water and electric are at also. It lists many of the sites as difficult to back in, even though they were on the outside of the loop and almost a straight shot to back in on the curve.

The problem with the app though is you don't know what site you will get. When you check in you can ask for a specific site but chances are someone will be on it.

If you could reserve specific sites, that would be a plus. But until then, follow 4077's advice to be proactive and give the Fort cast members enough info to set you up right the first time. Or else you end up in a reactive mode.

Said app said the site we got was easy to back into, well it is the outside of the loop, so always tougher to back to the blindside. Then they don't account for obstructions across the road, which is a big concern with a TT and a Large TV. It took me 5 tries to get in and I have been backing trailers for over 30 years now. My 2 cent FWIW.

I don't mind having a somewhat difficult site to back into. You only have to do it one time, right?

I just don't want to get to a site and then have to return to the office to change things because its impossible to get into or its too small.
