Does anyone think that Locke lying about Boone being in the plane is the red herring? As I've stated before, I honestly can't see how that will affect Boone's outcome. He is still on a deserted island, not at Johns Hopkins. They will do the best they can, and whether he was in a plane or on foot when he took the header off the cliff should be immaterial. Right?
So, then, they set us up to think the death is coming now, with Boone. For those of us who are following spoilers, they have Locke tell a lie, but it's not really one that matters much in this situation. But was this whole scene really a "betrayal" of Boone by Locke? Locke tried to get Boone out of the plane. I still think he used Boone, but I am not sure he knew Boone would die.
Let's say the spoilers on the timing of the death have been deliberately misleading. Boone makes it. Life goes on, creepiness ensues with Walt as promised. The raft is ready to go. What is he going to do, burn it again? He doesn't want to leave and we all know that he was willing to turn arsonist before and lie about it and offer to help! That is SERIOUSLY messed up, Dude. So Walt hurts Michael somehow and then LIES about it. Some might say that such an incident between father and son would be "the ultimate betrayal." Because the kid has lied about this in whatever way he chooses, Michael "ultimately can't be saved." Locke defends the kid or is involved in some way after the fact (perhaps with good intentions), thus dividing the island.
I say, if Boone is still alive by Wednesday at 10 Central time, Michael needs to get his affairs in order.

.Thank you. I'm a little obsessed and starting to question my sanity.stinkerbelle said:bengabelle - GREAT analysis!
and I'm going to go with Michael...IMO, no big loss really. I'm not a fan of his character...but he's so funny when working with Jin

I don't think Locke lying about the plane is the red herring. It's just too obvious. With all of the twists and turns so far, I just feel deep down there has to be more to this. I think the writers are messing with us and I think the spoilers being fed to Kristen and others are worded in such a way as to make everyone who hasn't been officially ruled out fair game.
I put Michael on death watch a while back. He or Boone would be the logical choice. BUT the way this show goes, they may go for more of a shock factor, instead killing off Sawyer or Sayid. Maybe they think that shock and unexpected will keep the ladies watching even without the sexy men. I think it would be a huge mistake, but that's just me.
If you look at what's happening for the actors outside of the show, Boone and Sayid are good choices. Sayid is the only one with a film career outside of the show and from what I hear is really good. If you look at statements he's made regarding LOST, he's probably the least excited about being on the show. I doubt to him personally it would affect his career in that much.
Boone has returned to LA from what I've read and has some other projects coming up. Is that because other writers and directors have recognized his talent and want to capitalize on his current fame, or is it because he has no future with LOST?
One more thing about Michael, Josh Holloway (Sawyer) said in the interview that the person dying was a good friend of his and it was tough. I've heard the whole cast is pretty close, but I read (maybe in the online version of the TV Guide article) an interview and he said this regarding Harold Perrineau's (Michael) wife.
Background: Michael's real life wife Brittany was the lottery girl in Numbers and the woman in the hotel room with Sawyer in Outlaws (the one where the man who tricked him into killing the shrimp guy was in the hotel room when Sawyer and the woman came in).
OK, Josh was talking about having to have a steamy kiss with her and went to Harold (Michael) to talk about it beforehand. He said Michael laughed and said something like "go for it man". Sounds like they might be a little chummy. Maybe Michael is his "good friend".
Of course, like I said before, maybe they make us think it's Boone so we won't believe it's really Boone and then it will turn out to really be Boone.
Like I said, we all need help (well at least I do).

Thanks for the info.alliecats said:I need help, too!
Michael has a pretty good career outside of Lost as well. He was on Oz, and was in 2 of the Matrix movies, among other things. I have seen him more than I've seen Sayid. I almost wish it would be Boone as I am so tired of feeling insane.![]()

I didn't know that about Michael. I've only seen a few episodes of Oz so the only guy I knew on there was the one from Law and Order SVU. I saw the first Matrix but I didn't remember him if he was in that one. I just hope it happens next week so I can resume a "normal" life. Just think what we're going to be like with the season finale cliffhanger![]()

My DH refuses to watch with me. That's OK, though. While I'm watching he's getting DS (4) ready for bed so I'm uninterrupted!skuttle said:My DH still watches the show with me...he just laughs at me and rolls his eyes whenever I start trying to figure stuff out. I ask his opinion on my theories, but he's not that into figuring stuff out so he's no fun!
I don't even want to think about the cliffhanger season ending. That will be torture!!![]()

The TV within a TV comment was the one about Hurley being on the TV in the apartment with Jin and the man he was supposed to "intimidate".Sandy22 said:Here's what I've been thinking about:
I'm sticking with the Micheal/Walt/Locke angle. That raft is almost finished...what if the catastrophic event is the raft sailing away in the next few episodes and then capsizes...the tear jerker will be Michael sacrificing his life to save Walt from drowing. Maybe what's left of the raft and the survivors are found and rescued by Locke in a separate location on the island...thus creating 2 "communities" one of which will be loyal to Locke.
I found that TV within TV comment interesting....what if the death is something Walt sees in the future? Walt does know too much...
Wasn't Walt playing with a toy airplane at some point? Was it a model of the small aircraft featured Wednesday?
I can't wait to see the dog episode...there must be something going on in the cargo bay if that's to be featured...was one of the main characters as stow-away on the plane?

Go ahead and laugh. I went to the store tonight to get stain for our baseboard moulding. I was trying to look for the same color we used on our other moulding, but couldn't remember the exact name. I knew it was some type of Walnut stain. Well, anyway, I kept looking at all the shades of Walnut until I found the one I need. The stock number on the can is 111. I was going to take a picture of it & send it to you.

I figured it out. The numbers 111 DO tie in to Lost. There is only 1 Sawyer, 1 Me, and it would only take 1 night!
