Yes and no .
From the spoilers and my previous posts I don't think it's any big secret that I thought this was going to be something really big. I just knew it wouldn't be Boone because it was just too obvious. Honestly, I kept waiting for him to get better. I didn't think they would have spent so much time (in the episode) having Jack work on him just to kill him off.

I don't dislike Boone. I think Ian is a great actor and he's really great looking (and he's from a town about 45 minutes away from me) but I just didn't feel him in Lost. I'm not super upset that it was him but I still feel bad for him. I'm glad he'll be back next season "in some form or another".

I tried to decide if I would have been more shocked/upset if I hadn't read any spoilers. I don't think I would have because I still thought this death was way too obvious. The only reason I kept thinking he might recover (aside from spoilers) is that Charlie and Shannon both did .

Speaking of Charlie and Shannon... They totally had me with Charlie's "death". I was really upset then and he's not even one of my favorite characters. They had me shocked again at Shannon's "death" (again, not a favorite character). Maybe my feeling about Boone is both of those "deaths" were totally unexpected and Boone's just went on and on.......

I thought I might quit reading spoilers for the rest of the season just to see, but nah! Don't think so.

Do you think it's because we're obsessed with spoilers?

It wasn't the unexpected death we all thought it was going to be, but for a few minutes there in the middle I really thought it was leaning toward Jack dying. I thought he was going to forget that he was pumping all that blood away into Boone and collapse or something. He was looking REALLY bad for a while there. When Sun came in and jerked out the line I was relieved!

I think we'll be seeing boone in backstory stuff for some time because he and Shannon were so linked.

Good point. Maybe this is why the writers thought they could kill him off, because they really aren't getting rid of him. That makes me feel better because even though I didn't love Boone like Sawyer I was sad for the actor (that he had to go.)

For a minute or two I thought maybe they were gonna hit us with killing Jack off. When he was giving him the blood transfusion he wasn't looking so good.

I dunno...it was VERY obvious...and at the end I was like "WHAT?! I could have figured that out on my own!"

it was the first episode that "tied up loose ends" very neatly at the end almost.

And can we please give Ian Somerhandle (sp?) an round of applause for a GREAT death scene? Sad to see him go...but that was some great acting IMO.

Me thinks jack is going to fly off the handle on Locke...he looked like a man with a mission last night.

ok - and his wife/fiance. (did the wedding actually go all the way through?)

It was Sayid that shot Locke, wasn't it? They won't kill Locke off the show, though, so I wonder what happens. He's probably going to get shot & it won't even affect him. He's superhuman now that he made contact with whatever is in the hatch.

This is by far the best show they've ever written for Tv.

I thought it was odd that Jack would ask Sun to go and get Micheal when he was planning on taking Boone's leg. Out of those there Sayid would seem to be the one to help with something like that. (other than Locke of course) I didn't think Jack knew that Sayid and Shannon had gone off alone together?

Sun is quite the woman!!

I am keeping an open mind to Boone's demise since we don't understand anything really about this show!! They like to catch us off guard all of the time so who knows where it will take us!!

Wow, I can't even stand looking at my own signature...he gives me goosebumps! I feel like a young teenage girl with a star-struck crush!

I'm hoping Jin will forgive Sun. Even without him saying a word, it showed a nice side of him when Claire was delivering the baby. You could tell he was avoiding Sun when he went back to Jack for help. He then realized he had no choice but to let her translate for them b/c he couldn't communicate with anyone other than her. I hope he realizes now that her speaking English will be a benefit to them.

That's the first thing I notice when she walked away........veryyyyy interesting. Does anyone know when the final is.....my co-workers are trying to tell me it's next week...Isn't in May sometime.............

I dont' know when the final episode is. I hope it is not the 20th as I will be in vegas then...... sigh.

I thought perhaps, Jack would die too, instead of Boone. He was looking pretty awful for awhile there... And then I said to DH (just after Sun pulled the transfusion out of Jack's arm) "oh, maybe they will both live and it will be Charlie that dies. Maybe he will find the stash of drugs and OD". NOTHING would surprise me on this show. I just LOVE it.
And man did Boone look FINE on GMA this am. wow.....

HIs death scene was soooo good. He was never my favorite character on the show, but sure thought he did a good job last night.
