No, it was still there when ajira flight 315 crashed, which was several years later.
Oh. Well now I'm even more confused
I had always assumed that somehow it came back ashore

The whole show is confusing, but that's why I love it! Anyone else get the feeling that the island inhabitants are all pawn in a human chess game? I know that'd be really lame-o (wizard chess, anyone?), but a couple of things that were said (Sayid being taken over by the dark), plus all of the previous black vs. white and game playing (jacob and the "bad" guy, Locke and Walt way back when), made me think that.
But Ethan was a baby on the island when the bomb went off in 1977.
I guess the bomb is not what sunk the island.

Ethan being there at the hospital surprised me. In 2004, I'd think he'd be on the island with Ben and the others...but who knows in this alternate reality/timeline and what the effects of the bomb being taken and made to go off are....yet.

I hope he snaps out of his grief to help the other losties. (he did have one funny comment about Sayid getting to come back to life)
I feel like that episode represents an hour of my life that I'll never get back. So filler. It's almost like all you need to watch are the first and last 5 minutes and you're good. Sure hope they let a little more info out next week, because they keep promising to, and then they really don't deliver a whole lot.![]()
How will we recover from having no Lost???

These flash-sideways episodes are showing us that the bomb worked. There is no island in 2004. Desmond on the plane with Jack told us that. He should have been pushing the button, but instead he was on the plane.
Were we suppose to know the guy that helped Kate get the hand cuffs off?![]()
Last show is May 23...we have a few months to go...than what? How will we recover from having no Lost???

No LOST?!! I am hoping they will write a book series - with all of the details we crave! I'm sure "they" won't - but I can hope!

What do you all think about Sawyer's storyline now? Boy, I was in tears watching him last night. What acting! You could really believe his grief, starting with his comment in the temple about why the torturer (Sayid) is alive while Juliet is dead. And the scene on the dock with Kate. Kate really ticked me off - I think she FINALLY realized that Sawyer was lost to her. She prob. kept thinking that she'd find Sawyer, bat her eyelashes and he'd do whatever she asked. But when she saw how grief-stricken he was over Juliet, she realized that Sawyer was truly in love with Juliet and she (Kate) didn't stand a chance.
I think once Sawyer works thru his grief, he's going to be the knight in shining armor who comes in and saves them all. Maybe he'll meet up with Jin somewhere in the jungle, they'll find Sun and team up with Frank and those guys.
and I've been leaning toward this, but last night really pushed me over the edge: Jack is pathetic. He's supposed to be the "leader" but he's just a screw-up.
