LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

If Desmond can catch glimpses of the future, does he have knowledge as to when, if ever, they'll escape from the island? Does he know how? I believe they'll have to address this in the future.

Also, why didn't Sayid make a bigger deal out of finding the C4 in Locke's backpack. It was obvious that Locke was lying and had something to hide. It was real obvious that the wanted "Patch boy" to bite the dust.

Wow, what a great episode! Even though I had a feeling John's dad would be behind the door, I was still taken back. I wonder how long he's been there. Do you think he was there before John got there or they got him once they learned about John? Ben also said they have no more contact with the outside world; I wonder if that's true.

Next week looks great too. It looks like one of them has been an Other all along. I wonder who it could be.

That was the best hour of TV I've seen in a long time! I thought for SURE there was going to be a cliffhanger after Locke's facial expression changed after looking in the room.

I just don't even know where to begin. SO much good info. I'm SO glad someone finally mentioned to Alex about her mother. Can't wait to see where this goes, and how heartwrenching was it seeing Danielle see Alex for the first time in 16 years?

It wasn't that much of a surprise at the end tonight, Ben was giving too many hints that lead up to it. I was more surprised the way Locke became paralyzed, I was figuring accident, gun shot, but not that.
And the guy who unlocked Locke's handcuffs, the same guy who wanted Julia to come work for him.
Next week looks wild!

See, I don't think next week's looks nearly as entertaining. Even though just about anyone would have bet money on John's dad being in that room, it really makes you think. It's not just about the fact that he's in the room - it's why is he in there, how did he get there, how long has he been there, etc.

I'm not nearly as entertained by the death/murder episodes. This show is at its best when it's making you think and giving you some revelation that sends the story spinning in new directions. While not UN-entertaining, not too much is accomplished in the way of the story.

When does abc put the latest episode online? I missed the first twenty minutes and I'm dying to see it.

I completely did not expect the scene with John and his dad in dad's apartment. I think my mouth stayed hanging open for a full minute.

It should be up tomorrow.

I need to go back and find the episode of Hurley talking to his accountant. Remember someone falling past the big window? I wonder if his accountant's office is in that building and that was Locke? I'm having a tough time recalling the timeline of Hurley's big lottery win and if that would fit, 4 years.

Good catch. I bet that was John falling out of the window.

Vaguely. This is getting good again.

And is John's con man dad the same con man who made Sawyer into Sawyer???

Ok, got my Season 1 DVDs out. . .gonna check and I'll report back, LOL.

The Sawyer thing, I know that's been a theory since we first found out Locke's dad was a con man. I think tonight just strengthens that since we do know that Sawyer was once in jail in Tallahassee.

OK I checked. The windowed buildings look like they could be similar (but don't any large windowed buildings? LOL) but the guy in Hurley's story is falling face down and appears to have a white shirt and a black tie. Locke falls face up and has a green shirt, no tie.

So either it's him and it's a continuity problem, or it's just a coincidence. Probably just coincidence. Unless they didn't want to make him look too much like Locke and give it away in Season 1.

Did you get this idea from the preview for next week? What made you think that?

Now I'm trying to remember everything that was in the preview!

My poor sisters Tivo didn't work tonight! :sad1: She was mad because it wasn't up on the net yet. Someone pointed out that it wouldn't be up until after it shows on the West Coast. :rolleyes1

It was a good episode and I can't wait for next week.

All I needed to see was that spider to know that I'm going to have to be prepared to cover my eyes next week :rotfl2:

Forget the Others, forget the smoke monster, forget polar bears on a tropical island.. . nothing is as scary as that split second of spider footage!

I enjoyed tonights episode but it left me with too many questions! How do the others know so much about our friends from the plane crash? :confused3

Great episode and I didn't expect that was how Locke ended up in a wheelchair! He sure does love blowing things up though, doesn't he? Next week looks great, this show has really gotten better.

Oh yeah about..."the box." Are we talking about an actual BOX or some sort of metaphor? That would explain how things that people were thinking about seemed to "appear" (the polar bear, the horse, Jack's dad).

And last but not least....I was kind of hoping Jack WOULD Leave the island! His character annoys me....maybe he still will? Maybe "the box" will provide a plane and a map.
