LOST - Season 2 (No spoilers)

I don't think the Others' whispering is decipherable. I don't think it has every been deciphered - and we have had quite a few chances in past episodes if it were.

I just told my boss today about the whispering, if they play it backwards, we would hear, "You're all fools for watching this show. There will never be an ending, and the stories will never come together." :rotfl2:

I missed the 1st 5 minutes of the show, but my boss told me that Shannon's dad was the other car in the accident that injured the back of the patient Jack saved.

Ohhh, I can't wait to find out how all these people connect. They have all crossed paths in more than one way or another.

Still can't wait to find out how Locke was crippled.

Ok, what the heck is GMA that you all keep talking about?

I taped last night's episode and just now watched it. I was cheering!! Woo hoo! Shannon's dead!! I couldn't stand her. When Sawyer went down I was scared they were going to have him be the one. As you can tell from my signature, I am rather fond of him :)

Good Morning America and the lame "secret scene".

Ummm...Josh is missing.

Um, Bengalbelle, Josh is missing??? Could you please elaborate??

Yeah it's wierd. Sometimes my sig. is there, sometimes it isn't. Strange.

I'm glad he's back. I was afraid you'd decided to keep him all to yourself :)

I have no problem with them killing one (main) person off each year, and bringing in some new ones. I think that, since they are building an ensemble cast, most people will have several characters they like, so losing one won't make you not watch the show, but it's drawing on shows like "Survivor", where we are kind of left hanging about who will remain on the show.

I also think they are trying to make people not like A-L, but I think we will see some redeeminmg features, and some people's thoughts will change.

And I don't think it's all coincidence that a 'pair' were killed off (makes doing flashbacks easier).

Am I the only one bored with the flashbacks? Now they are adding another group of survivors, will they do all of their flashbacks too?

I just think it was cruel to kill Shannon after Sayid had told her he loved her. I think the writers just want everyone to suffer. I am slowly losing interest in it. I need to care about the characters to tune in every week and if they are just going to kill them off why waste my time?

I couldn't agree with you more. I used to love this show (especially Sawyer) but killing off a main character is just plain stupid. and I really can't stand one more minute of michelle rodriguez's bad acting. I am surprised no one hasn't cracked her one yet for telling them to shut up. She ruins the show for me, and I hate to say this but I am losing interest too.

I can't believe nobody else has mentioned this but---maybe Shannon doesn't die!! It showed her shot, and hurt, and yes her eyes were closed, but hey Sawyer was shot too and lived (so far) So maybe the person who gets "Lost" forever is Cindy the stewardess.....?????

Maybe next week Shannon will be OK!!??

I can only hope! I was really beginning to like Maggie Grace, and there's been so much about her in the papers, magazines, etc. lately, largely due to her part in "The Fog" I'm sure. Still, all this publicity she's been getting lately made it hard for me to believe that they would kill her off, especially so early in the season.

I suppose it's possible. But didn't the promos say something like "One of the castaways you've come to know will be lost forever. " Cindy isn't someone that we know. But, I guess it doesn't mean that someone died necessarily. And there's also a difference between being shot in the shoulder and shot in the stomach. Ack, who knows. That would be nice if she doesn't die--that was so sad.

ETA: Did anyone else think it was strange how Cindy disappeared. I went back and watched the scene and she was there until about a minute (maybe not even) before AL noticed her gone. She just disappeared that silently that quickly? And if she did, the Others now know where they are because she was right there with them. It's not like she stepped away for a few minutes.

I agree. There really isn't room to have the tail section folks add to the cast and not lose other characters. It's spread out too far sometimes as it is.

Personally I'm really liking Eko. Great addition.

This is from a USA Today article:

Maggie Grace, who played Shannon, was "really awesome" about being written out of the show, says executive producer Carlton Cuse.

Her fate was decided early last spring, he says. "We had to negotiate her contract for this season, so she's known for a long time this was coming. But she was nothing but absolutely professional and completely tight-lipped and completely a team player in terms of going to events, doing interviews and participating as a full member of the cast without giving any indication that she was dying."

I love how convoluted and confusing this show is. It makes it so different from the usual who will leave/get killed during this episode stuff that we see on TV nowadays.

I'm sorry that Shannon is gone though. Even though it will be intriguing to see how the others react to this situation, I was starting to like her.

I really think she's a good actress. I read an article about her in Parade magazine and she seems really down to earth. Spends a lot of time reading and very professional; not the typical Hollywood blonde.

I am surprised no one has posted about this yet, but maybe it is because we are getting use to it now, but when Shannon and her step-mom were at the hospital Jack walked past them in the hallway.

I'm new to posting here (not a new follower), but I did post about this on post 825, a few before yours. I figured people missed it becuase I'm new.

ETA: Regarding whether or not Shannon will survive, Dominic Monaghan (Charlie  ) was quoted as saying she's dead and not coming back. Sorry to all you who liked her, but don't give up on the show! I tend to get irritated with shows that I'm supposed to "believe" are real when nothing bad ever happens to main characters, so some of the main Losties getting the axe makes it more believable for me. However, talk to me if they ever kill off Charlie, Hurley, Jack, Sun, or Jin - even Rose or Bernard (I LOVED that scene when he found out she was still alive), and it could be a very different story!

You know why I think I missed it, is because I am not getting email notifications of new post like I am supposed to. I know someone else mentioned it, but I will get an email, go look at the post (and any new ones after) and then see that the post above are also new to me. One time I missed a whole days worth of post and I was glad I had caught it or otherwise I would have missed some interesting things. I don't think it is because you are new. When I get an email, I now try to double check the previous post to make sure they are ones that I have read. Must have missed yours. Sorry.
