Lost our beloved dog today

He was only 5 years old and the happiest, friendliest dog ever. We loved him so much! He got away from DH this morning and dashed out into the road. It just seems so unfair that just one minute's misbehavior should cost him his life.
I have gathered up his bed, dish, toys and put them all away because it hurts too much to see them laying there and we will never see him again. I just can't stop crying and feeling SO guilty that this happened to such a sweet animal.

I'm so sorry. We have had a lot of pets over the years and it really hurts when one passes. We had a beautiful cocker spaniel who was hit by a car and killed years ago. He never went toward the road, but was following another dog. Of course it didn't help that the woman who hit him was speeding (at least 55 in a 25 residential zone). I am very sorry and I do understand where you are coming from.

So very sorry!! We lost our beloved dog a little over 2 yrs ago after she lived to the ripe ole age of 17 and it was so hard. They become a part of you...just like your kids. Hugs and thoughts to you and your family.

I have a "kid" that's a runner. She got loose twice and ran for the road. Thankfully, she escaped twice with no injuries. No one knows why they do it, or don't. God has better plans for them I guess. My prayers are with you in your difficult time.
