I know this is an odd place to post this but figured it can't hurt to try!

I lost my new Olympus digital camera in the Magic Kingdom on 8/8/07. Nobody has turned it into Lost & Found (how dishonest!). So I am posting a plea in case the person who found it plaays here by any chance. PLEASE give me back the memory card. You can keep the camera -- I can get a new one. I don't care about the actual camera. I just want the memory card with my pictures back. It has photos of my buying my wedding gown in July and other precious memories I can't get back. So if you could please please return my memory card I would appreciate it more than anything. Seriously, keep the camera. I don't care. I just want my memories back. :sad2: Thank you!!!!

I question if Disney tries to return these. Two years ago when I was at property control there were many cameras , sun glasses, cell phone batteries, etc.... for sale to CM's. Guess thats normal policy, however, do they really try and return an item. After seeing that , now when I go on a trip I attach a return address label to my camera.
Hope you have luck finding yours !!!

I know when DD lost her pin bag, they certainly seemed like they were trying to find the bag but it was never found.

We DID lose a baby bottle bag at the MK one day. We put a message in at lost of found and about 2 weeks later it came to us in the mail. They had even opened and cleaned the bottles which seemed like they went above and beyond to me...

I have to say that I feel your loss a year ago I misplaced my camera bag and when i remembered that something was missing I retraced my steps and was told to try lost and found in main street. I went there and sure enough my bag was there however my digital camera was missing (however my digital camera was still in it:confused3 )so I lost a whole week of memories,
I was happy however that someone did find the bag and did bring it to lost and found even without the digital camera

I lost a pair of sunglasses on Expedition Everest last year. I filled out a report because I really liked them and sure enough a couple of days after we returned home I received a package containing a pair of Ralph Lauren tortoise shell sunglasses. Unfortunately they weren't my Ralph Lauren tortoise shell sunglasses, but at least they tried. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

To the op, I'm sorry that you lost your camera and especially the photos on it. I hope by some stroke of luck that your things are returned to you.

Thanks everyone. I have a feeling everything is gone as well but I figured no harm in asking, right? They can keep the camera -- that I can buy again really. Just return my memory card is all I ask. I bought stuff tonight to make name and address tags for all of my equipment (it was only one camera out of the 7 I own -- I'm a photographer so it's not a huge loss but it's stilll upsetting). I just relly want it back. We've already been in contact with lost and found and they said to keep checking back for a few days cause you never know. A friend of our's used to work for Disney and she says the lost and found people are really good about getting stuff to people as long as CM's find it or honest people turn it in. It's just after it's been there for so long (I want to say a year but don't take my word for it) they sell things to other CMs and stuff. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed some one does turn it in.

A good idea also is to make your first photo on every memory card your name and address or phone number. That way if someone finds it they can return it.

And, always put your images on your computer ASAP!!! I'm sorry about your loss but when you did those photos of you buying your wedding gown you should have put them on your computer and backed them up to a CD that day! It is one thing to lose what you took that day but you should never lose more than a day's worth of images if your camera gets lost or stolen.

I'll second that advice. I'm always terrified of losing my images. I'm on vacation right now and I back up my images from my cards to my laptop every night or two. I burn them to a DVD and I store the DVD separate from the laptop bag. That way if I lose the camera or the laptop or someone steals both of them, I'll hopefully still have the DVDs.

My daughter lost her digital camera a few years ago in Epcot. Somebody turned it in. When we called lost and found they had the camera and verified ownership by getting us to tell them the serial number. We got lucky. Having access to your serial number makes the recovery process a bit easier. I think they'll let you describe some pictures that are on the camera as an alternative.

I think I lost my mind when I took 5 kids to Walt Disney World for 8 days. To this day my wife keeps checking with lost and found but no one has ever turned it in. I hope whoever found my sanity gets better use out of it than I did.

Jeff
