Lost my love for photography..

I'm sorry you have lost your love of the art. I was in the same situation with not even brining my camera out of the closest for several years. My husband and I had tried to have a baby for several years and were not able, then we found out that we were expecting our son. Needless to say we were estatic, only to be devestated to later learn we would not be meeting him as planned. We lost our son and I was devestated, I litterally couldn't even think about photography, something I truely loved and enjoyed, I just didn't have the passion for it any more. It took me several years, I have a beautiful 3 year old little girl (who has helped bring my passion back) but it has only started to come back recently. I am out of practice on just about everything and there are times that I feel like I am never going to get my "eye" back, but I am already seeing improvement in my photos and I am enjoying it more than ever.

All of that to say, it is possible you will get the passion back. Just be patient and don't rush it, don't forget to allow yourself to process and feel things you have gone through so you are able to feel the passion again!!

The fact that you started this thread tells me that somewhere inside you want to get bitten by the shutter bug again, but you're not quite there yet. Don't force it. Dramatic circumsances contributed to your loss of interest in photography (thanks for your service, by the way). It may take another dramatic event, but one that's positive and life-affirming (like the birth of your child) to reignite your interest. It may not happen right away, but don't fret. If that passion never returns, don't sweat it. You're young, you're living a good life, and you have people who love you.

I can't offer any advice better than what has already been said but I wanted to reply to simply say THANK YOU for your service! :thumbsup2

Bring your trusty point and shoot. Or even go out and buy an even smaller point and shoot to carry around. You can do a lot of snapshooting without having to take off your park guest (or weddeing guest) hat to put on your photographer hat.
