In January I used that automated system at the USPS to return a package to Lenox.com. I lost my receipt and now Lenox claimed they have no record of receiving the package but "it can take up to 4 weeks from the date of arrival for the return to show in our system"....and it hasn't been a full 4 weeks. They also requested a copy of the delivery/mail receipt.

I got insurance and delivery confirmation and used my credit card but like I said, lost my receipt. Is there anything I can do?

Anyone have any experience with Lenox.com and returns? Do they really take more than 4 weeks to even confirm they received it and did you wind up getting a refund?

I'm sick over losing the mail receipt and it's not like me to misplace stuff like that but I remember purging holiday receipts and think that must've been in the wrong pile.

TIA!

Did you insure the package or have delivery confirmation? Perhaps if you remember which post office you went to and have the credit card bill, they can look it up for you?

But, if you don't have the receipt for the insurance paid, it's going to be hard to get the post office to reimburse you for it.

Check your credit card statement for the date of purchase, then go to the post office with a print out and the credit card, it'll also show the exact amount paid. They can do a look up, although it'll take some one a while to sift through it. Ohh and narrow it down by the time of day you went in.

We lost a receipt once, but we had shipped two or three packages that day with registered mail, so it was a little easier for them to come across those, since there's only a handful a day of registered mail.

Just cross your fingers you have a really nice post office.

Thanks! I guess I'll see how helpful my post office will be. I have the CC statement and know what time of day I went so we'll see what happens. I'm really hoping Lenox just processes the return but they requested a copy of my mailing receipt to "expedite the process"??????<<<<-------makes me never want to shop Lenox online again. Why would me presenting the mail receipt speed up the return?

With the mail receipt, or more the delivery confirmation proves the item was shipped back to them, and is en route to them.

Ebay does the same thing, you have to provide delivery confirmation, and proof of delivery, in order to get your money back. If not the seller could say they never received the item back, and the buyer has no proof of return.
