does anyone know how long Disney keeps things in Lost&Found?

Hi:
The information I have is, each park has a Lost and Found location at Guest Relations, but items are only kept there for one day. You can contact Lost and Found at 407-824-4245 after 24 hours. Central Lost and Found is open seven days a week between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

only one day! wow! i wonder what happens to everything after that (my dad lost his hat that he's apparently quite fond of)

After one day everything is sent over to the main lost and found at kennels located in the MK parking lot. They label which park the item is found, what day it was found and what ride or attraction it was near. They stay there for a while. I had to use it last visit. You would not believe the things they had. The couple in front of me lost a disposable camera. They didn't care about the camera just want those pictures. The cast member came out with boxes of them found at the location they thought they lost it at. The only problem was they all looked a like. So they could not figure out which one was theirs. Label those disposable cameras. Even by putting a sticker on them you would be able to pick your out.

I'm not sure how long they keep the items, but I can tell you that as a kid, I left my favorite green blanket at Disney. (I'm 24 now!) As soon as we got home my mom immediately called Disney who had located that blanket and sent it to our house at no cost to us. I'm not sure if I loved Disney before that, but let's just say it probably enhanced my love so much more! Just a side note...I still have that blanket around!
