We stayed in a THV a couple of weeks ago and realized we forgot 5 DVDs beside the TV. I contacted member services who gave me the phone number for lost & found and I phoned them less than 48 hours after we left. I've left 2 detailed messages and asked for a call back. Nothing. Any suggestions or am I just out of luck? :confused3

Your DVDs might have made their way into the SSR Movie collection. I'm not sure if SSR has their movie loaners at the Community Hall or the store. Anyone know which location Sheribo should call?

DVDs at SSR are in Community Hall. HTH

Did you call the main Lost n Found? There is a separate one that serves OKW and SSR.

Initially called the main lost and found number with no reply. I then emailed and got a call back from member services saying they didn't find them. Didn't think to call the Community Hall but that's a good idea.

We left a couple of things in the closet at the GV we had at SSR. I called Lost and foun twice. Nothing was ever found. I just assumed maybe some CM from housekeeping is walking around with my capris!!!!!:rotfl: We have had good luck with lost and found in the Parks though on a couple of occasions.

We too have had good luck in the parks. My daughter left her purse at Cosmic Rays and we got it back a couple of hours later. They were very helpful.

On another note, I got another call from member services telling me that they were giving me $100 to replace the DVDs. Wow!

I just LOVE Disney. I know they can't do things like this for everyone, but every once in a while, they really step it up in situations where they don't have to. If I'm spending my money, I'm glad it is going to a company with these kind of values!

So glad you will get to replace your DVDs! :goodvibes

In our many trips, we've lost/left a few items and Disney has been great.

Once, we left a Disney bag of merchandise on a bus. We realized it within 5 minutes of getting off at our hotel, so called and they had it located for us within about 5 more minutes. On another occasion, left a nice pair of sunglasses. Went to main lost and found location and recovered them there.

The other incident was really weird. Since it was still hot, I had left my curling iron out when we packed to change resorts, then left without it. Realized it later that day and called lost and found. They checked with housekeeping who said that the person who cleaned our room threw it away! I was surprised both that they would throw it away, and also that they would 'fess up to having done so. Within a couple of hours Disney delivered a new curling iron to our room at the hotel we had moved to!

I recall one other instance where Disney lost and found called us after a trip to tell us that they had found some article of clothing -- "green shirt" or something -- that we didn't recognize as ours. I told them thanks, but not thanks, and perhaps to check with another guest.

The last incident was after we had cruised with Disney. Another passenger took one of our suitcases. They realized it several hours later and returned it to Disney, who paid to ship it to us overnight. (I could have waited longer, since it was our "dirty clothes" bag!)

Disney sure knows how to keep us coming back. In the grand picture, all of this must be a drop in the bucket to Disney but what a great example of customer service.

I've had some luck with a lost DVC canvas bag. We had three way split stay. After being in the third segment for a night, I realized the next morning we didn't have the bag. I called Bell Services and they finally tracked it down and brought it too our room. It took a day. We had a couple of messages that they were still looking for it. They asked what was in it, snacks and some paper towels. They bought us extra paper towels. LOL I just wanted my DVC bag back. I paid big bucks for that freebie bag.

I'm embarrassed to say we left the bag on the island in our first room at BLT. And we were at BWV at the end. We meant to take it to the car and just left it in the villa. :guilty:

Now that's service!

We experienced a little "lost and found" magic last week. On Thursday night three families (11 of us in total) dropped in at Boatright (Port Orleans) for dinner. We didn't have advanced ressies so had to wait for a table, but enjoyed a late dinner there.

The next day one family departed for home, and the remaining two families hit the parks for about half of the day. I left for our resort (Kidani) mid-afternoon to start organizing and packing for home. When I arrived in the studio, I noticed glasses on the kitchenette with a note around the nose bridge. At first I thought my husband left his glasses somewhere but then realized they were much too small for that. Apparently, the youngest boy from family#1 (who had already departed) left his glasses at dinner last night. Disney tracked me down either through the dinner payment or the last minute ressie and delivered his glasses to us. Until we saw the glasses, we didn't even know they were missing.

Needless to say, the parents were very grateful that they would be getting the glasses back. I was quite impressed that Disney went through that much trouble to return them - and so quickly too! I considered it a bit of Disney magic! :wizard: I called the front desk to thank them and whoever else had their hand in the return, but wish they wouldn't have been anonymous. It would have been nice to thank the specific parties. :)

We rented one of those 6-seater surry bikes at the Boardwalk once and my husband's wallet fell out of his pocket. When we got back to our room at OKW there was a message on our phone from the girl who found it. We went back to the Boardwalk and picked it up and she wouldn't even take a reward! Magical place I tell ya!!!:yay:

We've had a mix of results. DH's cell phone fell out of his pocket on Space Mountain -- retrieved and recovered from Lost & Found no problem.

DD on her very first trip to WDW had very carefully placed her lanyard (full of pins) on the hook on the door of the washroom stall. By the time she realized it, the lanyard was long gone. Nothing ever showed up.

This last cruise as we emptied our safe on the Magic, DH found a lovely pair of silver drop earrnings. They're waiting for you onboard, if they're yours!
