The guy told Sawyer he didn't have to shoot him, he would have paid. Then Sawyer realized he'd been set up by the man in the motel room. Evidently the shrimp guy had borrowed money from the man in the motel room so he made up the story so Sawyer would kill him. Then right before the shrimp guy died, he told Sawyer it would come around.

Wasn't the shrimp guy one of the detectives from Nash Bridges?

I really liked this episode. You can see that the actors have become more comfortable in their parts and have become more like a family with each other because they seem more natural or at ease.

I also thought it was nice having some injection of subtle humor like "go tell Locke, he'll kill it for you" when Sawyer was obsessing about the boar.

Did anyone catch that look that Locke gave when Sawyer seemed to come to peace with what was troubling him. I still think that Locke is not "human" but rather put there to help everyone overcome their issues in the past. He was there for Charlie, then Boone, now Sawyer.

I wonder if Sawyer will become a little less.. umm.. angry now and more a part of the team.. like when he actually cracked a smile with Jack saying he ran out of pies to hit him with. I don't want him to completely lose his edge but it would be nice to see him as more a part of the group.

Oh.. and DH Matthew said that he thought those whispers in the jungle that Sawyer heard when he went running after the boar in the middle of the night was all the women DISers saying "OMG.. Sawyers not wearing a shirt.. ahhhh *swoon*"

O.k - stupid me, fell asleep during the show! I only saw up until Sawyer was in the hotel room with the guy - and when the boar ran him over in the mud. Can somebody post a link to the episode recaps or fill me in...please!

The shrimp guy owed someone else money, who lied & had Sawyer kill him...believing he was the man responsible for his mom's death.

I liked the part when Sawyer and Kate were playing "I never"...there is so much chemistry between them.

When Sawyer figured out who Jack's dad was, I was sitting there yelling at the Tv, "Tell him, Sawyer", "Tell him!". I was disappointed.

Last night's episode was so much better than last week's IMO! I liked the interaction of Sawyer and Kate. I think I'm starting to lean towards wanting Sawyer and Kate together.
The only thing that bothered me was the very beginning. I felt so bad for the young Sawyer! It gave me the chills.
Can't wait until next week!!

I loved last nights episode. The chemistry between Sawyer and kate is hot, much better then kate and Jack.

I really enjoy learning how the characters are connected in odd ways, I just wish I knew what it all meant.

I love Locke, the actor does such an amazing job of protraying him as good/maybe evil all at the same time.

Was it? I know so far Sawyer has crossed paths with Shannon's brother (brain-freeze - can't remember his name) in the police station, then with Jack's dad in the bar. Apparently somehow or another they all have crossed paths before they got on that plane. They're all connected somehow.

No it was not the Marshall. It was another con man Sawyer knew from past con jobs.

I'm right there with you. I was yelling the same thing. Poor Jack will never get closure on his dad's death and his dad was proud of him all along

I was a little disappointed with last night's episode. The previews I read said a "secret" between Jack and Sawyer will be revealed. The "secret" turns out to be Sawyer meeting Jack's dad in a bar. Big deal. I was expecting either Jack's dad would turn out to be the man Sawyer was looking for or Sawyer ended up killing Jack's dad.

The whispers Sawyer heard were saying "it will come back around". That's the last thing the shrimp guy said before he died. I think the boar was that shrimp guy. It basically ties into the story Locke was telling about the dog.

What I don't understand is why didn't Sawyer kill the boar, just for the food aspect. Haven't they been complaining about the lack of food?

It was good that he didn't because it seemed he had found a peace with himself (even though he killed a man in cold blood for no reason LOL), but dh said "but it's food!!!!!!!!!!!!".

I think Sawyer drank two bottles, the first one was round, then he switched to a square one.
