It looked so dark I couldn't really tell if she was or wasn't. My guess is no, and now it's going to turn from looking for Claire to looking for her baby.

A few more questions about Walt -- we know there's something about the kid, but the question still remains what? There's a polar bear in the comic he's reading, and a polar bear appears on the island. He's reading about a bird in the flashback and the same bird hits the window.

Will everything turn out to be a product of his imagination? Like the series finale of St. Elsewhere? Man, I hope TPTB are more original than that. I don't think they're in purgatory, like many think, but it'll be interesting to see what the real story is.

If the kid really had that kind of power then a rescue boat or plane would have shown up by now (unless of course he wants to stay on the island ;)) I don't see how it can all be his imagination, Sayid met that French woman and I don't think the kid knew about that. It's more like there's something about the island and it's (the island) has tapped into Walt's ability. Also the bird incident happened because he was angry about being ignored, the polar bear today, at least, was because he was angry... was he angry the last time the polar bear showed up? I think he was because his dad was going on the expedition with the radio but he had to stay the at beach...hmmm.

As for the sweeps thing, yeah I know the reason behind the repeats ...doesn't mean I have to like or accept it ;) The person who came up with sweeps months should be hung!

I am also wondering if the connection between the things showing up and walt seeing them in books is his anger. It's a common factor. Hmmm..
DH wants to know if he'll start seeing penguins from the card his dad drew him. :p

Hopefully :) Penguins are much nicer than polar bears ;)

but we get to see Sayid's backstory(next week's rerun) again,a good thing for people trying to piece things together

I vote for just making MORE episodes! Let's keep those people working 39 weeks a year (they can have the summer off....like teachers).

DHB, I hope they ran off with the dog....would serve that Brian right!

Ok, I agree I have more questions than answers. Here's another thought to that crazy island they are on.

Has anyone considered the possibility that this island makes real what some of the people think. Remember Walt reading the comic book in spanish that had a polar bear in it......and then poof, a polar bear attacks him........

Also, Sayid and the others "heard" the radio cry for help that they think is 16 years old, they think some more on it, and then.....poof.....Sayid is captured by the very woman making the distress call.

This may also explain why the "mysterious" invisible creature has no form yet - too many people thinking about too many differenty types of boogie-monsters.

Just a thought.

mmausse - that is a good theory. It would certaining explain Locke. He was in a wheelchair and worked at a box company. It would explain him - he thought he could walk and do all this other stuff? Maybe that explains sawyer too. I dont think he thinks much of himself.

I've thought something along those lines ... there's something paranormal about the island itself, either mystical or super-scientific. I'm not sure which, though.

I did get out my copy of the comic Walt was reading -- Green Lantern / Flash: Faster Friends part one, if anyone's curious to find it; I already checked eBay and there aren't any listed. Quick synopsis -- an alien crashing on Earth in the 1940s and the original GL and Flash assist in stopping him. The military takes the alien away for study, GL and Flash don't agree with that, and hide the alien's spaceship. The alien escapes 50 years later, dying and wanting revenge on GL and Flash, captures them, and the current GL and Flash go to rescue them.

Anyway, the "castle" in the comic was part of an alien spaceship. It looks like a series of antenna on the top, and actually the outline does look a bit like Cinderella's castle.

To me, the outline also looks vaguely triangular. Hmmm ... Sayid and the others were talking about the triangle shape on the map. A pyramid-shaped building somewhere on the island, maybe?

I think the polar bear got angry.....because he was tossed into the fire and burned
and I also think that this black rock had some kind of magnetic power and maybe that is what brought the plane down !!!!!!!!

How did Locke know that Walt was special? With the knife too, Locke told him to see it in his mind and then all of a sudden he threw the knife perfect? Somethings odd about Locke still.

And I couldn't tell, but I don't think Claire is pregnant still either.

Wondering since Walt is "special", if somehow he brought that plane down?

Good episode. I enjoyed Charlie's battle with the diary. DH and both thought that Claire looked as though she WASN'T pregnant. Could there be some theory that this "thing" on the island wants children? It took the French woman's child, and now Claire's baby?

good point.....and with Walt having special powers it might want him too!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't overly crazy about tonight's episode but it seemed necessary. (Not enough of "my guys" in it!) Did anyone else about jump out of their skin when Michael got hit by the car? I felt bad for his situation but glad to see things resolved between him and Walt.

I don't know, but if you ask me Locke is up to something. The way Boone is acting towards Locke is just creepy. I hope Locke is a good-guy but I'm having some serious doubts.

A lot of great theories discussed here! I love reading them and the all seem like they could work. I hope it's something we never even think of, yet won't disappoint! I can't believe we have to wait two weeks! AAArrrgh!!!

I yelled when it happened...wasn't expecting it. Boone is pretty creepy lately. I think Locke can sense that Walt is different because he himself is different.

Nope, I knew it was going to happen. Whenever someone steps into a busy street without looking (especially when they have something important to do), they always get hit by a car.

I still believe that Locke is good. He's very mysterious, but that doesn't always mean bad. I have no doubts and I will be very upset if he does turn out to be bad, because I really don't think it fits the subtle nuances of his character.

I LOVE this show and I'm going to have a hard time waiting two weeks for the next new episode. Especially bringing Claire back. I wonder if she will be mad at Charlie for reading her diary? I find it odd how they are not more scared of going into the jungle with the "monster" out there. And how they didn't talk about Claire more after she got captered. Or didn't talk much about "the others" on the island.

Michael getting hit by the car surprised us both. I know I jumped!

I wasn't expecting to see Claire back, either! I can't believe we have to wait two weeks! I don't think she's pregnant any more. I wonder if she'll remember what happened to her. And I also wonder what will happen since someone other than Claire will be raising her child!

Interesting show last night. First off the Walt part was pretty funny with the bird. He's doing homework regarding native birds, his mom is having problems and Walt is telling her You not looking yet. Well the bird wasn't apparently looking either as is sounded like it may have hit the glass window then died. Of course this is foretelling that someone else is about to die as well (Walt's mom especially given that a bird just dropped out of the air and died on their property). I also believe that Walt has some special things about him and one of them is when he is angry things get a bit weird around him (2 times we've had polar bears after he was reading the comic book). Not to mention in a previous episode where Walt was playing back gammon, everytime he called out the number he needed he got that number, when he didn't call out the number he needed he didn't get the number (apparently the island grants wishes).

Boone/Loche thing is freakish. Why wouldn't Michael go back and tell the others that Boone popped him and that they are really acting wierd. I was glad to see Boone act differently toward Shannon (now she is beginning to get the picture).

I kept thinking as Walt was looking at the Comic strip that what if the writers did use the story line from the comic book as a rough outline for the outlandish island. Boone/Loche are attempting to open a hatch (what if it is a foreign spacecraft that crashed years ago). NOt to mention the French woman's saga (maybe they were keeping aliens there and testing on them and something went awry). I think eventually we will see the alien that was in the comic book (they simply showed the alien a bit long on tv).

Claire did not look preggers anymore in my opinion so this will be really intereting to see what happened to her and the baby. Not to mention whatever they'll all piece together using her journal and the maps that Sayid was dealing with.

Can't wait for FEb. 9th either.

Maybe Locke has been taken over by an alien being and needs to get people on his side to help get his spaceship hatch open (thing in the ground) and then fix it so he can go home.....LOL
