I feel like a complete idiot. I left my pillow at Pop Century!!! I have already called and left a message for lost and found, but will I really get my pillow back?!?!

What had been your experience with lost and found?

You will probabaly get it back but it will cost you. When I did this at the ASM it was going to cost alot for them to send it to me. I ended up just having them send the pillow case(which was the main thing I wanted) and it still cost me $25 I think.

UPDATE: My DH tells me he thinks we were at Nickelodeon hotel when this happened and not ASM.

WOW! When we left something once we didn't have to pay anything for them to send it to us. I've read stories on the boards where people had things returned to them as well without charge. I'm shocked by how much they charged you.

I've also read numerous stories on here about how they sent stuff back for free.

We only lost one thing during our stay, DS's retainer, and it was just LOST! Hope you have better luck!

Not good, but the only thing I have lost is a pair of non-prescription sunglasses (in Mickey's PhilharMagic). Loved them, because they fit me perfectly and didn't slide down my nose all the time. I checked with Lost & Found personally every day after losing them, but they weren't found.

I've learned to put my sunglasses in my purse when entering Mickey's PhilharMagic so I don't lose them while wearing the 3-D glasses. *sigh*

Sometimes I learn the hard way.

DGD left one of those Tinkerbell glow things from a drink in our room at POFQ along with some beads and a stuffed animal, they mailed everything to us completely free. :)

It seems to depend on the situation you lost your item in. For instance, if you lost/left something in a hotel room, and call asap, you'll be able to give them a lot of information like the room number, the date you left and what the item was. If you lose something say..on the bus, unless you can provide a really good description of the item and by chance look at the bus number, you're probably not getting it back. Things go into central lost and found at different points. If you've never seen it, there's a little "form" you fill out, that's basically "date lost, approx location, name, phone number, description of item". The lady at the desk at POP told me you really have to give the most detailed description you can. Red coat or black sunglasses or pink flipflops is not going to cut it. Even "red hooded nylon jacket, size large, with epcot map in the right pocket" wasn't enough.

Yikes! Those things are not cheap. I just got my braces off, yes, at 25, and the orthodontist was like don't lose these...really, don't lose them. They cost $300 to replace. I got bright green retainer and bright green case, so that it stands out.

So I was in the wave pool at TL on a Saturday when my prescription sunglasses came off and disappeared. Heartbroken. Filled out a lost/found card at GS at the park and left. (Thankfully I was coming back Wed). Came back Wed, went to central lost/found and they were in the prescripton sunglass bag with the date I lost them at TL!!! :cool1:

Then I broke them a couple days later...but at least they were found...so moral of the story...if you have prescription sunglasses and loose them before you head home (or will be back w/in 30 days before they toss them) check at central lost/found...you might get them back.

Like an idiot I keep falling asleep with a book in the bed. Twice I have left a public library book in the DVC beds, once at Beach club in 2006 and once in April 2011 at Bay Lake towers. The first time Disney called me about it, since I hadn't even missed the book. The second time I called and went every where, no one found it, but 10 days later it appeared in the mail, they had found it. No fees were charged to me on either occaision for sending it to me.
Disney Rocks:woohoo::banana:.

I stayed at POFQ and a couple of days after I got back home I got a call from Disney asking me if I had left my glasses in the room. I hadn't, so it must have been the next guest. But I was really impressed at how they were trying to find the owner of the glasses.

They even left a phone number in case I discovered that I really had left them behind.

Well the lost and found CM called me yesterday and I returned her call today...she said that they did indeed find my pilllow (the mousekeeper turned it in)...so the CM verified my address and said that Mickey Mouse would be shipping that out today via UPS ground. I am so EXCITED!!! I can't wait until I get my pillow back...

I fogot a whole drawer of clothes at CBR. When I returned home I called and they were turned in to lost & found. They mailed them to me at no cost.

My son is getting his braces of next Monday. I am sooo hoping and praying he doesn't lose his retainer. Not that I could be too mad at him, I did it more than once but at least I found it after digging through the trash at school!

My ex and I were travelling to Ontario from Nova Scotia years ago and we left our extra set of car keys at a Wendy's. They shipped them back to us for free. And that my friends was the exact reason we brought the extra set! :thumbsup2

I seem to leave something behind every single time I stay somewhere. Most of them have been pretty local where I could drive back to the place and get my lost items and I have lost things out of town and they have always shipped them to me free. I hope I don't leave anything behind at Disney. There will be 5 of us so the chances are good something will get overlooked.

My DD had her braces taken off a month before our Disney trip last October. I was SO afraid she would lose her retainers during the trip. She didn't...and hasn't in almost a year. Miracles DO happen.....:rotfl:

OK, here's some WDW lost and found info my neighbor told me after his family's return from WDW last week. He said his son lost a Winnie the Pooh toy so they went to the Concierge Desk at their resort to ask about Lost & Found. The CM he spoke to said that Winnie the Pooh items are not usually turned in by the CMs because they have a running joke - each day they see who "found the most pooh" - so they keep any Winnie the Pooh stuff. Seems strange that a CM would tell a guest that story but that's what my neighbor told me.....pooh:
