losing weight on the way to Mickey!

I'm joining in...I need the moral support and accountability!

Bethany
47 yrs
180lbs
5'2"

My goal is 40 lbs total as long as it takes but 15 lbs by June when we go to WDW for a week.
I have clothes I'd like to fit into and a swim suit that would look a little better with less pounds trying to hide!
For health reasons I really need to loose the weight and I'm hoping with all of you I can!!

My goals 1. Get moving more- walking and talking the stairs at work . 2. Clean my diet up...I am gluten free but my Dr says low carb, low sodium and low fat and liw sugar.3. Increase my water intake. 4. Set a healthier example for my DD8 .

That's it for now.
I'll keep everyone posted!

Yes we can do this!!!...I'm trying to start with goals I can actually do!! I like walking as well but here it gets quite windy which makes it seem colder  so I try to go up and down my stairs more! Here' s hoping for better weather soon!

Good morning! My plan for today- 10- 8oz glasses of water and take the stairs at work all day.
I work in a 4 story building and sit near the elevator. The stairs are in another area.
Getting up and moving more is focus today!

Ugh.. So life got in the way and I didn't get my 3 miles in last night so I will be doing it tonight. Dinner is in the crockpot and I told hubby and kids I am going to do it right after work because if I go home something will come up. I am so hungry today and I am trying to avoid the pizza leftover from a meeting. I just keep drinking water hoping that will help.

Well I went to WW last night after my not so great week and lost .4 for a total of 7. I was so glad I didn't gain. Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

Congrats on a loss!

Hi All! I would love to join this thread also! I am a 31 yr old mother of 3.... I will be buckling down this week and really start to set myself up for success. First thing will be to stop drinking diet coke.
Good luck everyone!

Hi! I kicked the diet coke habit 6 months ago and I dont even crave it anymore. When I want fizz I love the le croix sparkling water...grapefruit and lime r my favorite flavors

Officially lost the baby weight (she's 15 months;) now just gotta loose 40 more this year!

Congrats!

Great job sticking with your plan and not going home....remember the little people will suck you in and keep you from your mileage goal:cheer2:

Soo happy!!! I know ,I know ..its just day one...but I drank my water goal, got the extra walking in that I wanted and even ate less at super!! For me its a great start even though my day at work was crazy and some unexpected stuff came up!! Now on to beauty sleep....:cloud9:...

love the activity in here. I got in 2.5 miles today, but lacked on the water. Tomorrow's goal is to hit my water goal of 85 oz and to get up early for my workout before a busy day!

I wanna join! I am a nurse and I the overnight shift so I have slowly gained more weight than I'm proud of! I'm always so tired! Plus when your tired you eat carbs and sugar and you metabolism slows down. I started my diet 1/2/2016. I haven't weighed in a week and a half but I had lost 6lbs on 1/17. So Saturday is my next weigh in and I hope I have lost more weight! Feels like I have. Pants are feeling very baggy!
We are going to WDW in 2.5 months and I hope to loose 14 more lbs by then. My ultimate goal weight is 130lb but I'd be happy at 150lb.
I am using MFP app with a calorie goal of 1200 cals a day!

Good luck all!!!

So I made the mistake of getting on the scales yesterday after I said I would only weigh one time a week. Of course it said 2 lbs. heavier than when I weighed last. Now I'm bummed. I MUST quit that and only weigh one time a week. Doing good at drinking my water and today I am going to stick to all healthy foods. Everyday I treat myself to just one cookie. Another thing that has to go! Food plan for today: breakfast is an English muffin with a skiff of peach butter, lunch is baked chicken and green beans, and supper is a salad. Snacks, raw celery and carrots.

Have a great day everyone!

I work nights as a nurse, too! The cookies were beckoning in the kitchen the other night!! Why do people always leave junk food for us??? Best of luck!!!

Here is my check in report today...very tired from yesterday but made myself walk the 2 blocks to the store and post office. Not doing very well on the water today so going to set the timer and take " drink" breaks lol.....my mantra... Baby steps...

Joining in, my name is Nicki, 37 years old, 3 kids, bakery supervisor for 9 (yikes!!) bakeries, doing Keto/paleo. Lost 60 pounds in 2014 doing this and then slipped back into my old ways (occupational hazard) and gained back about 40 pounds. I started back on plan on 01/01/2016 have lost 11 pounds and 11 inches so far. 44 days until my next trip to Disney! If I lose another 10 pounds by then, I will be the size I was last year when we went and I will be ok with that (see profile pic) I just want to feel good and have fun with my family. I can't believe the difference in energy level since I've been back on track, I've got tiger blood running through my veins! Lol. I am going to try to stay grain free on my trip this time and use ice scream as my way to indulge. I just need someone to tell me that the croissant donut at Epcot is no good, lol.

Thought I would check this thread out...already lost my baby weight from my DS3 but it was NOT easy. I can relate to the paleo form of nutrition and honestly this was the BEST thing I could do for myself! Lost the weight quickly but steady and have been eating mostly paleo ever since. I would encourage others to check it out because what you put in your body makes a huge difference!

Update...got a sore throat, chills and earache from the wind ( still sensitive I guess from neck/jaw surgery a few weeks ago) ....lesson learned to focus on indoor stuff until better weather. Hopefully after a good nights sleep back at things tomorrow!

Thank you jeepnjudy, I do feel great, I have 40 days until my WDW trip and think that I will have no problem at all keeping up with all the kiddos!

I seriously used to do the frequent weigh ins I would get very put off with any gain and consider quitting.....I had to stop and focus on non wt loss goals.....it's helped me not get discouraged. I now weigh once a month....

Hi All! I would love to join this thread also! I am a 31 yr old mother of 3. My goal is to lose 35lbs. 3 years ago I lost 30+ lbs after my first two children and was happy there. Then I had baby # 3 and cannot seems to get back on track. We have a trip planned for 9/2016 and we are staying at the Polynesian for the first time. I really want to be down to my goal of 150 by then. I have been going to the gym 2-3 times a week and logging into MFP. I have a daily calorie goal of 1200. I do pretty good all week, but weekends are hard for me. I weigh in on Monday morning as a motivator to be good over the weekend.
So far since 1/1/2016 I have yoyoed down and up 5 lbs. I will be buckling down this week and really start to set myself up for success. First thing will be to stop drinking diet coke.
Good luck everyone!

Baby #3 did it to me too ;) it was the sleep for me. I'm going to post an article about how sleep affects our weight loss journey!

when you are tired, your leptin and ghrelin hormones are screwed up, so you don't feel full and you always feel hungry :) in addition people typically grab sugar or carbs to "stay awake".... I tell my fitness group to focus on water and sleep first, then get in the exercise and nutrition. Great job on the 6 lbs. Overnight has to be so difficult with weight loss, you are always tired and eating at different times on work days vs. non work. BUT I know you can do it!

OK, so on that scale is water :) when you start a new exercise program or nutrition plan you can expect your body to respond. If you've increased your water, your body will retain some at first because it's filling up it's stores :) Also, keep an eye on your sodium... if you eat anything salty like popcorn your body will hold that water with the salt in order to flush it out.... so drink up and flush out your salts. AND, honestly, if having 1 cookie a day helps you stay on track because it's your one thing, then go for it. Now, if you want to decrease your sugars overall, of course start to ween ;) Also, look into your proteins, you might want to add more in your day to help with muscle development and also to feel fuller. Now, I'm a weigh every day kind of girl, but I've done that soooooo long that the numbers don't actually speak to me, more of a radar. Do what works best for you!

You'll get there! taking baby steps is slow and steady which is perfect! I find healthy snacks that "make" me drink more water when I struggle. For example, I love almond butter on a banana, and if I eat it slow, I drink a ton of water between each bite!

Today, I had a busy day, but nutrition did pretty ok. I got 2 miles in on the treadmill, which is good since I had a tight opportunity for time and the old me would have just said I didn't have time before an appt. Tomorrow I plan on 3 miles in the morning, quinoa with apples, shakeology, modified deviled eggs for lunch with cauliflower, and I have no idea for dinner yet :)

Absolutey!!! So happy to have everyone! I have 3 kids too and time was my BIGGEST challenge too! I started my journey over 2 years ago and it's still a struggle to fit it in, but the more consistent I am the more my body loves it and craves it daily! start small to make it habit and consistent (instead of doing a huge long workout one day then you can't move the next and don't have time for 3 days). Pick something challenging, but easy enough to master so you can form that healthy habit! how old are your kiddos? I sometimes will have them join me for a video, I know full well they will not last, but at least they think it's fun and then they let me finish in peace :)

Hi! Thank you for the encouragement! My kids are 10, 7, and 1 1/2. The toddler seems like he gives me a workout every day just by BEING a toddler! lol
