bd Tracey ~ thank you for the welcome

I agree that finding a gym close to where you are is the most important thing for sticking to your plans. I am in the process of figuring out what to do myself on that front, as I need a easy gym to get to on my way to school in the early AM.
I work at a gym (funny enough) and have free access to it, but it is a little of my route to school... I am thinking of joining a small gym in my town to hit on my way out to the HWY in the morning. Problem I am hitting is my classes start at 9 am. I have a 45 min commute through rush hour in the morning, but I am just about convinced I will have to get up at 5am and hit the gym on the way to school. I think it is the only way to make it work!! I am working on a plan for this coming week.
Tara ~ thank you as well for the warm welcome

I am happy to have found somewhere to recieve and give support, as well this will make me accountable too!
I do not have a particular plan, allthough I am thinking of reading Bob Greene's Best Life plan over the weekend and implementing some of it.
I believe in eating 3 smaller meals a day with a couple snacks. Trying to get some protein (good protein) and a small amount of good carbs with each meal, and moving more.... definitely want to add about 3 days of cardio mixed with a few weight training sessions a week. I tend to prefer interval cardio as it is over quick!!! about 30 min of alternating intervals...
Kinda sounds like, Body for Life, doesn't it!! I do believe in those underlying principles, but I am looking for something I can live for MY life.
I am so sick of diets, or get fit quick schemes... My goal this time is to just get healthy and at a weight I can be comfortable in my clothes, no matter the season (hot weather in particular is awful overweight!!)
I want to be able to walk and not feel winded, play and feel refreshed, and not feel so sleepy/lethargic all the time. I just want to feel energized and good in my body.
So... upon saying that,
I was a little down this morning when I weighed myself to start this thing. the number was disheartening... 207 lbs

yuck, I've let myself almost get back to my previous weight when I began losing weight to join the military!!!
That is so frustrating, knowing i have to start almost all over again! I am motivated though, and excited because I can only get better from here. I just want to get a handle on my weight once and for all!
So... as stated in my intro post, I am sticking to the 25-30 lb goal, and when I figure out how to add a ticker, it will go in my signature to track my progress. I am humming and hawwing in my head about whether or not to joing WW on line or try and find a group in my community? I think that is a great program too, but last time I tried it, life had a way of getting in the way of my weigh-ins! as it usually does!!
I know how to eat, what to do....now I just have to , as the nike slogan says -- DO IT!!!~~
Well, I am off to work, so I hope all of you have a productful and wonderful day.
