Losing weight for our weddings!! See new thread.

I am back on Jenny Craig...mostly because I am so crazy with work. It helps me stay on track. I get a menu every week when I meet with my consultant. I don't eat all their foods but mix some of mine too.

This is what a typicall day is for me:

Cereal (low fat)
1% or skim milk
1 fruit (usually a banana)

Yogurt mid morning

Lunch- Jenny Craig or Smart Ones meal with a salad

Fruit as an afternoon snack

Dinner-Something grilled, a veggie and a low fat starch

Dessert- This is my favorite part about Jenny Craig. I had a lemon cake with cool whip and raspberries last night!

Df and I bought the Cook Yourself Thin and have been trying recipes out of that.

Also trying to excercise more. There is a channel on cable that has a variety of "classes" to take. I have done a Bridal Ab one and a hip hop dance one (totals usual about 25 min).

Why oh why did I not lose weight lol:rotfl:

It's ok to fall off the wagon! And know you have support here! :grouphug:

I want to try the Special K diet, I have heard great things about it. And your dinner sounds really yummy! ;)
 Thanks sweetie.

Not long till dinner now!! Nummm!

It may take some time for your metabolism to kick in. I was on WW for a month and was so discouraged that I almost quit..finally, I started to lose and I felt better.
That was the worst month..I was going to the gym 3 times or more a week and eating small portions and felt like I was getting nowhere

It also took about a month for anything to happen to me with WW as well.

I have also fallen off the wagon, for about the last 3 weeks I haven't really been counting :scared1: as there has been a veriety of birthday cakes and sweeties both at home and at work, and my power to resist vanished.

Going to get back on form as of today though (I hope!)

So I am not doing very good keeping track of weight loss or *gulp* gain, since we moved I have lost track of my scale. :)

But, I did start a full body cleanse last night. :goodvibes I bought it at GNC and so far I haven't had any "issues". Well... technically everything is in pill form, so no problems.... except the fiber/probiotics formula. It says to mix it with juice or cold water... well I read that after mixing it with my coffee this morning.

So I am sitting here, TRYING to suck down my coffee that smells like garlic and tastes like OJ :scared1:

Its a 7 day cleanse, so I will let you know how it all turns out.

Lord sweetheart, PLEASE dont go by BMI weight. It is a generic way to say what you should weigh. Some people weigh heavy..I am 5'8 and 155 and comfortably in a "large"4 or a "small" 6. I am considered overweight by my BMI. If I weighed my ideal BMI weight, I would look SICK and anorexic. By the way, I was a personal trainer and nutritional consultant for a long time..I know what I am talking about. The scale can be your ENEMY if you let it. Weigh yourself maybe once a week on the same day,FIRST thing in the MORNING on the same scale, after using the restroom and weigh yourself with NO cloths on. Instead of keeping track of actual "weight loss" on the scale, if your working out keep a tab on your body fat %. I always took it with my clients once every 4-6 weeks. ALSO get an idea what SIZE you want to be. On average you will lose an inch for every 2 lbs you lose. I am happy to answer any questions for anyone who has them. Send me a private message if you like. I am so HAPPY to see everyone working together for this. It is always great to have this much support!!! KEEP IT UP!! Awesome job everybody!!!

Well, I haven't lost any weight AGAIN this week, even though I am exercising and on WW. But, as the post said above, the scale doesn't mean a whole lot.

I did my measurements again today for WW and I realized I have lost a ton of centimeters!! I have lost 4 cm's around my arms, 2.5cm from my waits and 8.5 from my thighs!!! YAY!!!

WOW!!! That is awesome!! We get measured at our 4 week mark and I am hoping I lost some too! The scale has only moved a mere 2 lbs :( BLECH.

Hey girls. I had another weigh in...it was supposed to be Wed but ended up being Saturday. So mom and I switched to Saturday weigh in's instead. So I guess I overreacted and I didn't gain 2 lbs last week but actually 8 oz lol. So weigh in on Saturday was...

A loss of 5 lbs!! WHOHOOO!!! Only 15 to go!!

We have been eating a lot better. I have some yummy recipes if anyone wants them!! We have been eating what we love but with way less fat and calories!

How are you girls doing????

Yay!! That is great :banana::banana::banana:

What kind of recipes do you have? I LOVE cooking (whenever I have time of course!!). I ended up going to our neighbourhood pub tonight, but I had chicken fingers and salad, which is pretty low on WW points. However, since this is the long weekend, a few people are coming over for some beers soon, and I know I will give in!! I have some extra points left over though, so I think they are deserved, lol.

My new plan to increase weightloss is to add in some "extras" everyday on top of my regular workout. I decided that I will take a break every 50 mins, and walk for 5-10 mins, which will add up over the day. :goodvibes

congrats! :-)

I actually just started a new job and have been exhausted and a slacker, so I didn't exercise for 4 whole days and I pigged out on junk food! :headache: But, it's ok! I went dress shopping and realized that I don't have much to lose to look slim in my dress, and I have a little over 8 months, so I think I'll be ok!

What kind of recipes? I am always looking for healthier options! :woohoo:

Our new favorite is this one:

cheesey chicken parmesan with zucchini "pasta"

Ingredients
for sauce:
1 TBS olive oil
1/4 red onion
3 cloves garlic
1 can of tomatoes diced with the juice
1 sprig of fresh basil
pepper and salt
4 zucchini

for chicken:
1/4 parm cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 large egg white
1 pound of chicken breast
1 TBS olive oil
1/4 ricotta cheese part skim

Directions
1. for sauce heat some of the oil in large skillet and cook onion garlic and 1/2 tsp of salt over medium heat for 5 minutes , add tomatoes and juice and 1/2 tsp of salt and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes then cover and let simmer for 20 min.
2. cut the zucchini with a veggie pealer like little circles and when the sauce is done take sause out of skillet and cook zucchini with a little of oil until brown and remove.
3. mix the bread crumbs and parm and dip chicken in egg white and then the bread crumb mixture and cook in skillet .
4. reheat the zucchini and sauce and serve with the chicken and add a spoonful of ricotta cheese to each serving.

It's a little time consuming but amazing!! It's a little over 300 calories for a serving (makes 4). It is seriously delicious!!!

Also this was a great one...but I needed a salad to be really filled up.

Mushroom and Spinach Quiche with Potato Crust

Ingredients
1/2 pound Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and shredded
3 1/4 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 onion, diced
8 ounces white mushrooms, sliced
5-ounce bag baby spinach
3 large eggs
1 cup skim milk
1 ounce Gruyere or cheddar cheese, shredded in a food processor or on the large holes of a grater

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Lightly grease a 9-inch glass or ceramic pie dish with 1/4 teaspoon oil. Toss potatoes with 1 teaspoon oil and 1/8 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Press into an even layer in pie dish, up the sides like a crust. Bake 20 minutes. Let cool.

3. Lower the oven to 325 degrees. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a large skillet, preferably nonstick, over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened and golden, about 5 minutes. Add remaining teaspoon oil and mushrooms and cook, stirring, until mushrooms release their liquid and most of the liquid evaporates, about 8 minutes. Add spinach and 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper, and cook, stirring, just until spinach wilts, about 30 seconds. Let cool slightly.

4. Whisk together eggs, milk and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt and pepper. Spread the mushroom mixture in an even layer in the pie dish, and top with an even layer of the cheese. Carefully pour in egg mixture. Bake until firm around the edges but still wobbly in the center, about 20 minutes. Let cool, and serve warm or at room temperature.

I actually used a lot of veggies...asparagus, onions, mushrooms and spinach!!

I'll see if I have any more. We have been cooking a lot from the Cook Yourself Thin cookbook!!

ohhh, that looks tasty! Thanks for posting!

I have a few WW books if anyone is looking for anything specific!!

Ok girls another recipe for you. Tried this one tonight and OMG! This will cure ANY chocolate urge you might have. This was SUPER chocolatey!! Only 194 calories and 5 grams of fat per serving.

Chocolate PUdding
1/4 c sugar
1/4 cup dutch process cocoa powder (mine was dark)
3 Tb Cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
2 Cups 1% milk
1.5 oz bittersweet chocolate (I used white)
1 tsp vanilla

Whisk together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in a sausce pan. Set over medium heat and add milk slowly, while whisking

Continue whisking while brining to a slow simmer (about 5 min) Add chocolate and whisk until melted

Remove from heat, stir in Vanilla

Divide into 4 and chill, uncovered for 3-4 hours

I didn't wait the whole 4 hours so it wasn't set all the way but it was to die for!!

I have a really cool dessert substitution...take any cake mix..I get them when they are buy 1 get 1 free..

Instead of oil and egg, add a can of diet soda. I have done ginger ale in yellow, root beer in chocolate..diet coke in anything.
Bake according to the directions but watch it..toothpick test will let you know when it is done. It comes out denser than a regular cake and really crumbly..my DD loves this cake!
