Ok, So I did not have a great Mother's Day- food wise....I ate more than I should have and had two helpings of ice cream cake....what can I say I celebrated being a MOM....
Today I did do much better.
I went to the gym and had a somewhat of a healthy dinner.
I can't get out and walk in the morning like I wanted to as I have to get to work earlier than normal this week..UGH!

So I will just have to try and get to the gym more often this week.
My goal this month is 8lbs....that's 2 lbs a week.
Hopefully I can do it....

Good luck all......

OKay, so I opted to stop throwing a pity party for myself because I'm the only one in control of my weight. I went on a 6 mile walk and just got back. I feel good though and my "woe is me" feeling has left for the moment. Of course, if I had a supportive boyfriend, that would be a little better but we can't have everything, right??

Anyways, thanks everybody for your support ahead of time. If there are any tips that are really helpful...please share!!!

Hi all,

I just discovered this thread and have enjoyed reading all your posts. I too am looking to shed some lbs and get into shape before arriving at WDW on 6/26. My issue is this, as soon as I start to lose a few pounds and feel like I'm starting to look good I get complacent, my problem is staying on track.

Looking forward to hanging out around this thread in the coming months as my fear is that once my vacation is over (7/6), I'll slip right back into my bad habits and the scale will once again begin to creep back up.

 This is me doing jumping jacks!

I feel good though and my "woe is me" feeling has left for the moment.

You feel great because working out releases endorphines (sp?) which naturally make you feel good! The more you work out, the more you feel great! Isn't that awesome? ;)

So this is the scenerio - it is 9:15 pm. The kids are finally settled. Do I get on the TM or do the dishes, laundry, pick up toys, work that I brought home, whatever else needs to be done (don't even think about relaxing, watching TV, reading, or talking to my husband) ????

This, I know, is why this is so hard for us all. There is really so little time in the day. But I am proud to say that I got on the TM and everything else will wait until tomorrow. (give my husband credit - he did the dishes)

I also want to say that this has been my best stretch of eating and exercising in a long time. (10 days!!!) I feel great.

Thanks to all of you.

I am down to 153 LBS! I think I am on the slow and steady plan. pound by pound, inch by inch. It's very hard some days, but I just keep thinking of Dory saying, "Just keep swimming. just keep swimming."

Hubby is out of town the next two days and I find it harder to eat healthy when he is gone. But I did well last night. Grilled chicken and veggies. I haven't decided what tonight's dinner is. Most likely grilled chicken and veggies again, or chicken tacos with lots of veggies.

Good luck all and Welcome new people!

Well, I just found this thread and I'm going to try and jump in. I'm 46, 255 lbs. (OMG! Did I really just post that for everyone to read!!! :scared1:), and I'm about 5'5". So, I'm really overweight!!! But I been overweight most of my adult life. When I was young I took ballet and danced and trained almost every day after school. Then I went away to college, and had no structured eating habits, so I didn't gain the freshman 15, I gained the freshman 50. It was unreal, I finally lost most of it by my senior year. Then I married an abusive man, and fell into depression and gained a bunch back, then during our divorce I plumeted back down to an almost anorexic profile. Then I met the man of my life, I gained some, but was not obese!!! Then I had 2 kids, and gained more weight than I had ever gained before. So, I thought breast feeding was supposed to help you lose the baby weight, well not me!!!

DH and I are following a better for you to eat kind of diet and in the past month I have lost 5 lbs. so I guess its working. And we have started to walk 1 mile every day, so that will help too!!

We leave for Disney on Aug. 15 and I'd like to have lost 20 lbs. by then, but I don't know if I'll make it, but my DH will, because he loses weight so easily and I am so jealous of him. I see if I can find a picture of our last trip to Disney to post.

Thanks for starting this, maybe it will help me keep on track!!!

For years I felt like taking time out of my day, away from the family, to work out was selfish. I would feel guilty spending that hour a day on myself. Not any more!!

Now I have made working out 6 days a week (sometimes 7) a priority. What I've realized is that when I'm on a regular exercise and diet plan my mood improves, I feel better and I am in a much better frame of mind to deal with the daily stresses of life.

Besides, when I look good I feel better about myself and everything else around me.

We women are pulled in so many directions with our husbands, kids, extended families, house, job, pets, etc etc. We need to stop feeling guilty for taking care of ourselves!

OK, off my soapbox now ..... thanks for listening. :)

So, I have another motivator now...LOL. I've got a wedding to attend in 1.5months, and will be visiting home for. Talk about needing to look good for something...dont want to be the cow at a wedding.

SO, I'm going to working my big butt off on my eliptical and Wii fit and weights for the next 1.5months. Cutting back more calories (I still have calories that are safe to cut). Here is to hoping 5-10lbs more come off. That would make me feel better.:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Have you tried Turkey Tacos? They taste just as good as tacos made w/ red meat, but way less greasy and fattening. I use chicken in my low fat quesedillas though.

Just got home from dance so so so tired :faint: but man I feel great I kept up with the teenagers  and even the "twig" came up and asked me h:goodvibesow to do something ... holy crap ... :scared1:

So I feel great today :goodvibes .... Only thing that stinks is I haven't put on my recital costumes till today ... I think these will get burned after recital ... :sad2:

Plus I had to use new pointe shes tonight cause mine had broke ... man do my little piggies hurt ... :scared:

Hope everyone is doing well.... Welcome newbies ... hope you all find the support and push you need ...

Hi Guys,

I have not posted here in a while. I have been alright food wise but not so great exercising because I am leaving in 2 days :woohoo: for my trip and I have been so busy getting everything ready and shopping and laundry and packing and stuff like that. I feel so overwhelmed like I have so much to do and all the money I am spending is making me a little nervous but I am trying to enjoy it and have fun. I was also getting nervous because the weather report for next week has rain and T-storms for every day of my vacation. :sad2: I was freaking out about it but the more I talk to people I feel better. They keep telling me that it only rains for a short time so not to worry. Hey, a rainy day in Disney is better than no day at Disney.

Gotta go,

Loralie

I'm leaving in 2 days, too! Leave Friday evening, drive all night, arrive Saturday. 18 hours - good thing I love road trips!

I've had an off week. No telling what I've eaten. I'm single, no kids, never been married, so I've got pets. I love and adore my guys. Well, last week was one of those weeks - 5 veterinarian visits, I think around $300 for all of it, maybe more. Two were things I knew were coming - a horse blood test that's annual and heartworm for the dogs - the other 3 were surprises... wasn't planning on them. So.. there went a huge chunk of the $$ set aside for the World. Not terribly worried about it, since I am single and know how to be frugal when needed. But, this week, lost a pet and have had some other things not going well. Isn't life full of twists!

I'm weighing today and expect that I'll have another week of no weight loss or perhaps some gain. I know I'll be staying on my caloric regimen after I get back home (and while on the trip), but I'm just not sure what this past week is going to look like on the scale.

Loralie, have a great time while there!

The best thing about a rainy day is that there will be low crowds. We had thebest tour ever of the walking safaris in AK when it had been raining all day. We saw frolicking tigers and the gorillas were downright friendly! Didn't have to wait our turn from behind a wall of people to see the hippo, etc!

Tell yourself that you are washable and keep going! BTW, if you bring crocs for the rain, make sure you have waterproof bandaids too. Wet crocs can rub blisters!

I have been lurking since day 1. I don't have a ton to lose, but that stubborn 15 pounds gets me down. I used to be so active and cute. 38 is killing me though. It seeems like I grew wings under my arms overnight and now my eyesight is getting bad too. What's up with that?

So, I am exercising everyday and doing semi-intense weight training everyother. My pitfall is noon to when the kids come home. I work part time, so my alone time really ruins me.

Current weight:145
Age:38
Height 5'5"

Goal: 130...maybe.

I am so sorry for the loss of your pet.....

Have a great time at Disney!!!!

How is everyone doing? I did not go on the TM last night but I had done about 4 days in a row. Tonight I am looking forward to getting on it again. I am eating well and feel very committed to this. I have discovered RideMax and I have been staying up way too late planning my days in the park.

Hope you all have a great day - today is a nice light day for us in terms of after school activitied and that is always nice.

I cheated the past 2 days because I've been super tired from carign for a sick LO. I ordered out. Lets just say Pizza Hut fixed that problem for me....wont be ordering from them for a LONG time (if ever again). I only got half of a pan of pasta, and they told me I didnt know what I was talking about when they finally called me back after 5hrs of waiting on my call to be returned. Then I get sick from eating it. Yeah going back to mommy cooking.

I did well yesterday. I walked on the treadmilll and read a great book at the same time. Walked for maybe 35 minutes at 3.5 mph. I then did some light weights while I watched GMA, then got ready for work.

Worked and peed alot...lots of water! Went to eat lunch with my DD at school. I brought a Burger King hamburger for myself and drank water with that. Not too bad.??

Ate pork loin (marianted in Dale's sauce) off the grill and mashed potatoes, green beans, no butter, no salt, water as there was enough in the Dale's, and salad with light ranch dressing. Dessert was a bowl of Reese's Puffs with DH after the kids went to bed.

Still 145. Oh, well.

Had dance again last night didn't get home till almost 10:30 pm but everything is ready for our recital and I am so ready to get it over with...

I have done pretty good today ... and the last few days... I am thinking Friday and Saturday are not going to as good (lol stress eating I feel it coming)....

I am hoping to get back on some sort of workout schedule when recital is over ... I am even going to be teaching a Adult Dance Class and we are mostly gonna do fitness based dance and not only do I get to teach but I plan to do everything with them too ... :yay: It'll be so much fun

Well hope everyone is at least trying to have fun its easier if its fun and when it seems it can't be fun to exercise then fight ot make it fun... I have been using the SpectroMagic Song and the Wishes! Song as my workout music ... lol keeps me in a good mood the whole sweaty time ...
