Yeah, I think this is a very appropriate title for my upcoming trip:
Losing Pounds or Losing My Mind for Disney 05/2016 PTR
This will be a combination of my upcoming plans for our Disney trip as well as my journey to lose some weight prior to the trip. I would love for you all to join me in this journey and I feel this PTR will keep me accountable for my actions up until our dates.
Me and my hubby Peter
First, let's start with a little background on me. I'm Ann, a 48 year old mom of one soon to be 18 year old girl. I have been married to a wonderful man for over 5 years now and fortunately he indulges my Disney habit. We honeymooned in Disney (yes, with the child) and have been every year since. We even bought into the Disney Vacation Club in 2014, so he's stuck with Disney for the forseeable future. My health is not that great and thus I need to lose weight. I'm 5'2" and per my home scale this morning I weight 223.8lbs. Ugh....I just said that out loud...ok, so I just wrote it for all the world to see. I am an insulin dependant diabetic, so strike one there. I am also a thyroid cancer survivor and as we all know, the thyroid controls your metabolism, so let's just say I don't have a metabolism now, so strike two. Hopefully I won't obtain a strike three!
My plan is to follow Weight Watchers. I have been on and off so many times I've lost count, but when I am faithful, I do lose weight. I have all my materials so I won't be attending meetings unless I feel the need to. I think I can do it myself with support from friends, family, and all of you! I also am a YMCA member and my daughter plans on going with me to at least walk the inside track when neither of us are working evenings. I do work full time for State Government during the day and occasional evenings at Party City!!
I love that job!!! Anyways, my first goal will be to get under 200 lbs for our May trip. I think it's doable and we shall see.
My Victoria
Our Disney plans includes a week-long stay at Disney's Old Key West in a deluxe studio from May 13 through May 21. We are hoping to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge and have been put on the waitlist, but will be perfectly happy with OKW. We have annual passes and this will be the second time using them. We bought them in September when we took my mother down for her 75th birthday and stayed at her dream resort --- Grand Floridian. Yeah, it was ok, but it was definitely not for me!! I am not a fancy person whatsoever!
So, there is my introduction. I hope you will all enjoy as you follow along with me.
