Los Angeles Transportation question

We have decided to take a cruise going out of Los Angeles (just a warm up for our Disney cruise in January )

Can anyone tell me what is the easiest and least expensive way to get from LAX to a hotel in San Pedro, near the cruise ship terminals?

Also we need transportation from the cruise ship terminal in San Pedro back to LAX.
