I have been racking my brain and exhausting my google search trying to work out the best place to stay in LA - thinking around hollywood/ west hollywood for a few days.

So after any recommendations or even please don't stay here tips as well.

Thanks

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel, right in the heart of Hollywood. The location was unbeatable and the hotel was lovely. It is part of the Hollywood and Highland Centre, right next to Kodak Theatre and Grauman's Chinese Restaurant with Disney Soda Fountain across the road. I highly recommend it.

Hi we stayed at the Holiday Inn walk of fame. The prices were great. It was very clean. The breakfast consisted of cereal, bagels, bread, boiled eggs, yoghurt, coffee, tea and juices. It is a block from the Renaissance Hotel but was much cheaper. Our room had a little kitchenette, with a microwave which was handy. There is a subway and a great pizza shop directly accross the road.

I would say that if you get breakfast and a much much cheaper price and only one block away that Kalice's suggestion would be the way to go. Renaissance was beautiful, but you didn't get breakfast and you didn't have a kitchenette.

Thanks Ladies, I will check them both out, always feel much better when I am going from recommendations rather than taking a stab in the dark

We stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel in a 2 bedroom apartment. About 200m from the Walk of Fame. It was old but kept very clean. Inc light breakfast and an open minibar type situation. Eg if you want a coke they just give it to you at reception. All non alcoholic. Doesn't have lifts, two stories so you need to be able to climb a flight!

We've stayed at the Best Western Sunset Plaza a couple of times, and loved it. http://www.sunsetplazahotel.com/
Almost next door to House of Blues and accross the road from the Comedy Store. There's also a great steakhouse accross the street.
